1. The Democrats take both houses, but with very slim margins.
1 seat in the Senate

3-4 seats in the House.

2. Why does ANYONE think this election won't be stolen?
Edited on Wed Sep-20-06 10:33 AM by halobeam
We are all amazed how some people will believe anything so blatantly obvious as Bush's lies are, but yet, after proof of electronic vulnerability to hacking, voter suppression, ID card, yada yada yada, we still have our own people thinking this election will be fair, let alone the Dems would win? I WANT to be wrong, but I would bet everything I have that this election will be stolen too, and sorry, but it's all over until THAT is changed. I hope with all my heart, that it won't be too late then.

Don't mean to be a downer, but PLEASE someone tell me how to believe in this voting system for these NOv. elections? I'd like to feel differently, because these are truly horrible times and I want some REASONABLE hope. Tell me how this election is SAFE AND RELIABLE.

3. Proof of vulnerability != proof of actual election theft
Note the following remarks made by some actual experts, the Princeton professors who demonstrated how a virus could infect a Diebold AccuVote TS machine:

-- Begin quote --

Have the vote-stealing methods you discuss ever been used in real elections?

Probably not, but we don't know for sure. We haven't seen evidence that these attacks have been used, but one lesson of our report is that the design of these voting technologies makes attacks relatively easy to cover up.

Do you think any recent major U.S. elections were stolen?

No. We know some people are claiming this happened, but we don't find their evidence convincing.

7. you have to believe
there ARE people working on the election problems, but it can't be fixed overnight. We all need to vote regardless of the outcome in Nov. It will give us useful information and evidence. Keep your antennae up for anything that doesn't feel right about your voting experience and report it to national databases.

Don't believe in the system--it is NOT safe and reliable, and anyone who tells you so is incorrect. But it is crucial for everyone to turn out to vote in big numbers to help expose the problems. We can't hand it to them on a silver platter. Make them work to steal it.

It's worth it to vote on the chance that we can overcome the election manipulation in some precincts and actually win some races. If you don't even vote, you cut down on that chance.

8. I didn't mean to give the impression I wouldn't vote. I most
certainly will.. wild horses wouldn't stop me. I just don't believe for a minute it won't be stolen. I hope you are right and we overshadow the corruption/theft. It seems it would be our only chance. The turnout has to be made as big as 2004 or better.. do you think that would happen in the '06 election? I don't.

4. It will go great for Dems until 5pm CST.
Then the amazing will happen. The Repugs will come from behind and pull out a small but beyond recount range victory, and gain two more seats in the Senate, so they can be fillibuster proof. Further investigations of GOP navels and a week of post mortem news with GOP "election experts" will conclude that the exit polls were wrong.

6. How big are your midterms?
If the Democrats take both the house and senate, could impeachment hearings start?

Is is big enough that Rove and Co will rig it like 2000 and 2004?

Im guessing a new Bin Laden video will surface and Im also guessing the Media
will go along with the rights talking points that the democrats are having Illegal
Aliens vote for them.

9. The republicans will manipulate voting machines and voter
disenfranchisement, and keep power in AT LEAST one branch of congress. Most likely, both houses.

It's already a done deal.
