Radicalism masquerading as conservatism...
Edited on Wed Sep-20-06 09:24 AM by kentuck
What percent of Americans truly support the radical agenda we now have in place? Is it really the majority of Americans? I cannot believe that. I do believe that many people have been hoodwinked by the "conservative" label and they thought Dubya was a "compassionate conservative". He was anything but.

First of all, he is a capitalist. He supports whatever makes himself and his friends richer. Secondly, he is a Machivellian. He will do whatever it takes to gain and maintain power - including lying, torture, or wiping his ass on the Constitution.

I cannot believe the majority of this nation voted for the huge debt, pre-emptive wars, privatizing Social Security, or torturing war prisoners. These people are radicals in the truest sense - but for the worse.

1. Not a majority of Americans support the entire radical agenda, only tens
of millions do IMO, the real hard-core true believers, the some 18% or so.

3. He is a "radical" capitalist...
I do not believe he sees capitalism as any force for good. It is greed, pure and simple.

7. Then the distinction needs to be clearly made
Going around calling capitalism radical is political suicide.

6. I think that's the key difference
Real capitalism with boundaries and regulations to make it fair cna provide opportunities to everybody (I know some of you will disagree with me on this, but that's my opinion). Croney capitalism on the other hand favors the elites and works to keep the plebes down - unfortunately we've had more crony capitalism as of late.

5. radical is a left wing term.
The OP should call them reactionaries or ultra-conservative. Or, just call them conservatives and attempt to define conservatism as something ugly represented by Bush.

9. There are radicals on both ends of the spectrum
The term 'radical' doesn't only apply to the left end of the spectrum.

8. Talking Point to True Conservatives...
For November:

The administration is NOT you.

If you are the Goldwater Conservative or even a Reagan one, you should be as outraged as we are.

You hold little in common with this junta. They are indeed RADICALS in the most negative sense. They tear down exactly what we both stand for; the Constitution, Rule of Law and the traditions (checks and balances anyone?) that America stands for.

The expanded government and government's power beyond ANY other administration, racked up record deficits and unimagined beauracracy.

Reel them in...make them ACCOUNTABLE.

I have talked to so many people, many of them conervative and with the exception of the very few BushPods...people are MAD and ASHAMED. Ask them...talk to them...you may not agree with our politics but you can agree...we have common cause against THEM.

Sooner or later...the Dominoes will Fall.
