How in the HELL is the Idiot War Criminal Gaining Popularity??
This is beyond belief. Utterly crazy. Are people eating too much spinach? Are they hypnotized? Fake war, Katrina, Halliburton, Rove/Libby leaks, Deficit, poverty, Iraq debacle, saber rattling, Propaganda, Torture, Election fraud, Contracts to friends, Secret Oil baron meetings, cutting brush before 9/11, just to name a few...

I was hoping Gallup was bullshit, but Survey USA is showing increases too...

10. Drop in gas prices is another repub diversion, just because a few
cent decrease is prices at the pumps does not mean a thing. Does the fact that prices have dropped mean the administration has done something positive? No, it was planned so that we would think that everything is hunky-dorey now that prices are down a few cents. Look how much they have done for us. Now they want us to congratulate them? Sorry guys, you lost my vote years ago.

17. Just wait till the new Osama video or capture comes out in Nov.
Talk about diversions. They're obviously saving the best for last. Oh yeah, bet on a guaranteed "heightened alert" status the week of the elections based on "credible intelligence" with every GOP leader in front of every TV camera saying that they'll protect us.

Just like the sun will rise another day, it will happen.

People want to believe the President. Look where Congress is and they are just pushing what he wants. We all put the President at another level. He is the only one we all vote for so to speak.

Need proof? Listen tom the calls on Washington Journal on C-span. It also proves you don't need to be very smart to operate either a telephone or sadly, a Diebold machine.

15. Don't despair
You know full well that they can mulipulate any poll numbers to conclude any results they please. As long as you know the difference between right and wrong and "truth needs no defense", this clown can't possibly have any poll ratings higher than 0.-1. It's the ignorant supporters that imbellish lies and deceit.

16. The major surveyor's have friends that are high up. I'm sure that
these numbers are fake. Even repugs are saying, "thank-God for election, at least the gas prices are going down." But do you notice how cleaverly the inflation on food prices hasn't decreased since the gas prices falling? It may have been the intention all along... Because if costs less to ship now, who is making the extra profit?

20. If true, it'd be that that nothing "bad" has happened recently.
At least, not front page bad stuff. Strife in Iraq is passe'. No new scandals on the Republican side of things, just some old one's solidifying. Every week, several soldiers still die in Iraq, but sadly, that's just a background hum.

There's a new status quo that people have settled in to. As long as there's football and a new season of TV, people will just start feeling that things are "ok". That's a human defense mechanism. No matter how much the situation sucks, people will eventually adjust to it.

they are probably being manipulated by the Rove propaganda machine, it's before mid term elections these desperate men will do anything.

they are a desperate bunch of men, and speaking for myself, they have to be thrown out.

24. They gotta make him look popular now because they intend
to diddle the election in November. They wouldn't dare make a party look with only 32 or 33% favorability of their fearless leader.

Make bush** look good and they think they'll have clear sailing to steal #3.

28. Beats me.
Literally, every single person I know is so angry with this administration that they practically spit when * is mentioned. This list includes a lot of people, including several fluffy types whose primary goal in the world is usually "can't we all just get along", my extremely Libertarian parents who are building a house off the infrastructure in the mountain west, and a couple I know who are die-hard Republicans (neo-con types, not fundies). They ALL hate the bastard with a passion. Half the posts I read in on my LiveJournal friends lists these days are people ranting and raving about one BushCo project or another. I have upwards of 100 people I interact with on a daily basis, and I can't think of one single solitary person who has anything good to say about Bush. Seriously. Not one.

None of them have changed their minds any that I can tell in the last few months either. If anything, it seems like people have gotten more angry.

Thus, these polls mystify me. I hate to be a conspiracy theorist, and I usually feel contemptuous of people who won't accept poll numbers that don't support what they personally believe (like all of Freak Republic every time an anti-Bush poll comes out) but I admit that the thought has crossed my mind lately that maybe the numbers are not quite right or something. It's definitely bizarre given my own personal experience with the world in the past few months (angry people screaming at TVs in public places when the * comes on, everyone I know getting more and more pissed off, etc.). I do wonder if they are trying to "soften us up" for more election inconsistencies in November. I really hope not, but the thought has occurred to me.

Shows just how silly this type of polling is...

Just overlay gas prices with a chart of Bush's popularity and watch the correlation.

33. Their campaign
strategy of scaring the shit out of the voters and focusing on 9/11 and Bin Laden is apparently working.

Lower gas prices and NOT talking about the failure in Iraq and Afghanistan is helping.

If his rise in the polls is really true, it tells me that the American people are indeed as stupid as hell.

gas goes down (a bit), numbers climb (a bit).

there is a percentage of people in america who only notice politics when it affects gas prices. we now know what % that is.

35. he is not! its what they do to steal electons with the machines!!
and i will say ir over and over...we have seen this in Fla in 3 elections..they make it look close so when they steal it the perception of the populace is that it was sooooo close...

and i will also repeat this ..tell your candidates..the minute the polls close..irrigardless of what the polls say..for them to scream it from the roof tops..

i won, i won i won i won i won i won..

the rethugs do it every time..and its all perception..and there are no real recounts possible with the machines..

so if our candidates scream i won i won..it will turn around perception..and then our candidates can say when the rethugs say..i won i won..we then make them pay for court costs and recount costs...

we need to get smart about this..
