"In a post 9/11 world . . ."
Is anyone else as sick of this expression as I am? It seems to preceed every excuse there is for any POS Republicans want to do.

1. You don't know how many times I've yelled at my TV....
"DAMN IT! STOPP WITH THAT SAME DAMN EXCUSE, YOU AH!"

YES, I'm damn sick of it! I think I'm going to start using "In the PRESENT Bush World, my thinking is totally different!" At least THAT would be the damn truth!

5. I really hate it when Bush uses it and smirks,
as if he has just come up with a brilliant remark to remind us all of something we were to stupid to remember.

2. And not to mention its utter crap.
In Australia, we have our own little terrorism scare plan. On all buses now there are little signs saying "A Bag without a Person Doesn't Make Sense".

WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA?

So, in a post 9/11 world, lost property is not lost property, it's a bomb.

4. And a person without a bag is a eunuch.
Sorry, that just popped into my head. ;)

3. One of the things I find most nauseating...
...is the Americocentric arrogance of it. 9/11 was an attack on America, not the world. We may as well say 'a post-7/7 world (the London Underground bombings) or a 'post 3/11 world' (the Madrid train bombings), or even a 'post 7/11 world' (the Mumbai train bombings). The insistence on defining the world in terms of America is not just semantic. It speaks of a mindset that places this country above all others; that elevates its concerns above those of other countries.

Maybe the Iranians could start pushing the meme of a 'post 8/53 world' (the CIA overthrow of President Mossadeq), or the Chileans could talk of a 'post 9/73 world' (Pinochet's US-assisted coup), or Salvadoreans could talk...need I go on?

This is not a 'post-9/11 world.' It is, however, a 'post-9/11 America.' And we've all learned how bad a place that is.
