For those of you who watched Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's speech at the United Nations tonight, what are your thoughts?

His speech was:

15. So then you want Muslim Sharia law to be the law of our land.
So you want women to wear full body sacks, restricted from employment outside the home, death by stoning for sexual immorality, NO ABORTIONS, women not to leave the home without a male escort, women to be killed by a male of the family if her conduct offends the family honor.

You want gays executed for being gay.

You want it to be law to pray to Mecca five times a day.

Tell me again what kind of Democrat you are.

Just because Ahmdinejad is having a problem with Bush, it DOES NOT MEAN THAT HE IS A GREAT GUY. The enemy of my enemy is not always my friend. Sometimes, as in this case, he is an asshole too.

There are no voice inflections or body language to modify the written message.

Apparently if you use any form of sarcasm, they cut your hand off, according to Sharrhea law. I'm series.

It is very beautiful.

From what I have been told, by Iranians, the majority wants democracy - just not at the end of a gun barrel.

that the people she met there have no desire for another war after what they went through during the Iraq/Iran War.

6. Brazil said the same thing on the structure of the Security Council
This is an issue with the UN that needs to be addressed, no one from Africa, South America or the middle east has veto power.
President Lula addressed some of the same issues that Iran did and I don't care what one thinks about Iran. These are the world's gripes against the G8, WTO and the security council.

7. I didn't see the speech,
but I would not want to live in Iran today. I have taught many Iranians whom I liked personally, but I don't like the government of Iran. The reason I am against Bush is that he wants to limit our freedoms and he is trying to destroy our constitution which gives us those freedoms.

Why didn't you just vote "other" and then expand for DUers who missed the speech?

32. Ahmadinejad does tend to make better points than Bush.
Talking to Brian Williams, he asked, "Did Iran invade a country bordering America? Or did America invade a country bordering Iran?" He's got us there.

I always cringe when I hear Bill Clinton speak (on any topic) and then compare him with the Chimp in my mind. But you know it's bad when the leader of our next "enemy" produces the same result.

Is there any world leader with as weak a case to present as ours? Even the evil ones at least operate in the real world.
