So I go to an interview today and they base their decisions on prayer
Its a sales position, I ask the guy if there is a contract for me to sign detailing pay, etc.

His response "Well take this for whatever its worth, we are of the upmost integrity and we are very spiritual here, if you know what I mean. What I'm saying is we base many of our decisions on prayer. We pray about our big decisions as well as our small decisions and do what God tells us to do. So to answer your question no we do not have anything in writing for you here, we are of the upmost integrity and we do not need to provide you a contract just our word.

He offered me the position and I said, well like yourself I am a spiritual person and I need to go home and pray about this and I would get back to him. I will get back to him and I will tell him that God told me this is not the right position for me.

I knew something was up as soon as I saw a sign posted "Jim Gibbons Country" the Repuke candidate for governer here in Nevada.

4. In the words of Wm. S. Burroughs:
"If you're doing business with a religious sonofabitch, get it in writing. His word isn't worth shit. Not with the good lord telling him how to fuck you on the deal."

No contract, just their word my ass.

a lay minister with LDS.

11 kids.

27. ba-da boom
You just would not believe how they set me up.

And, of course, his Faith and Family were played up large.

Before I realized what was going on, he was already out there in my industry telling everyone that I could be neither trusted or believed.

I am a pretty sharp guy and never saw it coming.

But I am also a mean, vengeful mofo.

I destroyed him.

He lost everything.

And I'm still around.

29. Bill Burroughs quote
Asthmaticeog, I've only heard that quote in one of my favorite documentaries, "The Source". Thanks for reminding me! Dude knew what he was talking about--when he knew what he was talking about, that is.

7. this is for real? wow--just. . . . wow.
you are much kinder than I would be under those circumstances.

When I bought my house, the real estate agent told me that there was a couple who were interested, but who were outside praying on the matter. I wrote a check for the earnest money, then went outside, tapped on their window and said, "god told me to tell you that the answer is NO."

9. I once had an Arab can driver who made his decisions by prayer
I am caucasian, got into a cab with an Arab driver on the North side of Chicago and told him I wanted to go to the south side of Chicago (Hyde Park). He told me he needed to talk to Allah about it, and after doing so, Allah told him to find me another cab which would take me to the south side, which he did. Cab driver appointed by Allah for the mission was black.

I thought it was pretty funny actually.

15. Well I would have been an independent
contractor, thats why I was asking for a contract.

I thought it was pretty funny myself. So hypothetically speaking I take the job, so what happens next? I'm not selling enough or fast enough and God tells them to fire me and keep my commissions. Screw that!!! Nevada is a right to work state, they can just keep your money. Its stupid.

16. We had a salesman say that to us
We hired this guy and he came in on Friday to pick up a bunch of material about the company. He was supposed to show up at our other office on Monday.
Monday, I'm the only person in my office and he comes in hands me the materials back and says he prayed over the weekend and god didn't want him to take the job. I kind of wondered why god didn't tell him before we told the other candidates we had already chosen someone.

20. I had to work in the Emergency Room a couple of weeks ago
and the ER Doc was a Muslim.
There was an article in the newspaper about a candidate that was challenging one of our beloved judges.
The article said something along the lines of "I am a Christian first and a Conservative second".
The good doc wondered what the hell being a good Christian had to do with being a good judge?
And why no legal experience whatsoever could be overcome with just that.
Anyway, I concurred.
The Doc shared a story with me about one of his patients who was a used car salesman.
Said there were two people he wouldn't sell a car to.
One was painters because they messed up the interior and Two was self-pronounced CHristians. Said they never paid for anything then made you feel like shit when you had to repossess their car.
