What will * do after his term?
Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton have been re-writing the rules for ex-Presidents, continuing to be productive citizens for a variety of causes after leaving the White House. Somehow, I have my doubts about the current occupant of the White House. He'll presumably have a couple decades of potential public life remaining. What do you think he'll do with it?

I see him becoming commissioner of the Arena Football League, or some similar second-tier operation.

4. Yeah ...
Nothing ...

Literally ... I mean, what has his father done ???

The amazing thing is ... As great Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton have been as ex-presidents, the talking heads still vilify them ... America in the 21st century, a place where greatness is sneered upon, and lunacy is praised ...

39. Agreed. Absolutely nothing
Maybe playing video games, sleeping in a little, and some overzealous exercising. And, I can tell you what he won't be doing:

Working on humanitarian efforts
Traveling around the globe
Doing any type of an honest day's work

Dubya will continue being good ol' Dubya.

7. It is interesting to contemplate
I suspect he would walk off into the sunset. Assuming he leaves the presidency I don't think he would see any percentage in standing in the wings.

14. Can you say, "Third Term"?
House bill with bipartisan support (from February) reads:

`The twenty-second article of amendment to the Constitution of the United States is repealed.’.

28. I saw that thread
It's actually what prompted me to ask.

It takes too long to amend the Constitution for that to take effect in time for 2008. But I would love it if Bush had to stand for re-election and be held accountable for his disaster of a second term. Instead, he can just claim term limits and go back to doing... whatever it is he likes to do in his spare time.

17. Will do or should do, if there is any justice, are two different things.
If there is any real justice he should live through an earthly (and non-fatal) version of "hell" created with the input of the families and close friends of each his victims.

My daughter asked that question last night, we were talking about Clinton going to be on the Daily Show and she asked us what presidents did after they were done with office.
We talked about how successful Carter has been and Clinton and others. Then she asked what we thought bu$h would do.
