K-K-K-Katie's House seat to turn Blue? (FL-13)
Looks like Katherine Harris' House seat just might flip this November. An internal Dem poll shows Dem nominee Christine Jennings eight points over Repuke Vern Buchanan for November's contest. Tom at Election Predictions is still calling this race as a "Weak Retention" for the GOP, however things are not as rosey for the Repukes in this usually stalwart GOP district. This is just another example of just how bad things are for the Repukes this year.

See it at Election Predictions Florida Page (Scroll down to "House District 13".

6. Eight points is a pretty big swing.

The idea of stealing an election is the maintenance of credibility in the face of the inevitable claims that it was stolen. A one or two point swing is easy to jigger because the exit polls can conceivably be off. However, an eight point swing would be way-y-y-y outside of the error bars.

I am of the opinion that all this "election will be stolen" screeching around here is merely an affectation of people who are worried about it to the extent that they have suspended any rational thought on just how difficult it would be to jigger many dozens of races in states across the country versus jiggering one or two states in a single Presidential race. After all, many, many of these races are in areas where loyal Democrats are in charge of counting the votes.

Please do not interpret my words here as saying that I think the election will be honest. However, the Repukes have to know that any attempt to fix this one is going to be difficult at best, and near impossible at worse. Yes, they will do their worst in some close races, but I don't think that's going to be enough to stem the tide.

The deal here is that Democrats have to make this a big issue, something I don't see happening yet. However, if we have enough people on the ground on election day we may be able to put a finger in the dike before it's too late. Press coverage is essential.

If the Repukes do try widespread electoral fraud, I can see some whistle-blowers coming forward. What if a hungry district attorney convenes a grand jury?

7. Tell that to Max Cleland
He had a similar lead and was diebolded.

They are more bold and scared than ever.

8. Cleland == One race.
What we're talking about this year is *not* just one race in a locale that has a Repuke in control of vote counting. We're talking about 60 or more races nationwide, in districts some of which are in Dem control. Are you seriously claiming that the two are in any way the same thing?

Yes, they will jigger some races, but they *cannot* jigger more than 60 races nationwide. At least, they won't be able to do it without somebody in power calling them out. As I stated, all the Repukes need right now is some hungry district attorney convening a grand jury.

However, we've got to push this issue, and push it *hard*. It is unacceptable for the Repukes to try to fix even one race.

4. Buchanan has real problems speaking in paragraphs.
Jennings will be all over him in any debate. Plus, she was a republican in her early days so many of her old friends may still support her.
