live and in their entirety regardless of topic, place or time of day to know how screwed we are until we get our own mass media. It would be an interesting comparison to tally the Clinton speeches that received this type of blanket coverage by the networks. I doubt it!

2. well, no, to be fair, there were some speechifying they elected not to

air a few months back, once it became obvious Bush was using "important speech' to frame basically a stump rehash.
There was a glorious coupla weeks, I think right around Katrina, when the media actually grew some balls.

it was short-lived, but it did occur.
