Hi. Malloy here. It’s Monday, September 18, 2006. Well, it’s been almost three weeks since we were fired by the really, really strange pod-people who have temporarily taken over Air America. Tonight’s program will be hosted by my good friend Peter Werbe. Not sure what he’s talking about tonight, but do tune in. If you’re wondering how we’re writing and posting this mini-blog it’s simply because the airheads in Air America’s executive suites – the pod-people mentioned above – are too, um, stupid to figure out how to handle their own website access. The door’s wide open. So we dashed in just for the hell of it to post this “howdy, how is everyone?”

Frankly, we think the suits are too stupid to stop us so we’ll probably do this every day and also post a longer blog inside the site where we used to. Until they figure out what we’re doing and stop our fun. Bastards. Just mean ol’ right-wing bastard pod-people running our Air America. Well, eventually their bodies will start to react to Earth atmosphere and they’ll have to leave. Meantime, Mike and Kathy here saying, stay tuned!

and when I'm wrong, I'll admit it.. but as someone pointed out, things change in the radio world every second... it's like trying to herd cats... I try to say only what is looking "relatively" solid (believe me, you want right field?? you wouldn't BELIEVE some of the things that are 'supposedly' coming soon. Sirius is gonna fold Sirius Left totally and keep a coupla of shows (not Thom) on other channels

Clear Channel is going to use there bandwidth on XM (that XM is stuck with letting the use until 2008) to make a 'competitor' to AAR with Ed Schultz, Stephanie, Lionel and a few others..

like I said .. WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY out of right field and I don't have any confidence in those two pieces of gossip ......

Mike was recently interviewed by salon.com for an article they're writing about Air America Radio past, present, and future. We haven't been told the publication date, but watch for it. Mike had some interesting observations. Speaking of which . . .

Strange things can happen when certain corporate entities fire much of their website editing department without first making sure at least one remaining employee knew how to operate the darned thing. I'm just sayin' . . . . .

And be sure to tune into Peter Werbe at 10 PM ET on Air America Radio while you can. He's a good guy and a premier talk show host and you should check him out, wish him luck, and pray his checks cash.

And again - for all the kind folks who keep emailing wanting to know the awful truth, rest assured: we will share all the details of our personal experiences with Air America once our financial and other mutual business issues are resolved; hopefully sooner rather than later. You deserve to know the truth and as you would imagine, there's quite a story to tell.

While there is no definite job news to report, we now have three potential radio opportunities to consider and are cautiously optomistic that we'll be back on the air soon. Can't wait to talk with you all again! Your supportive email and calls and petitions are being noticed and just might hasten our return to radio.

36. LOL! That's great. I wasn't a regular Malloy devotee but I liked having

him a radio click away when I was in the mood. And I miss not having him on the air.

He was good with listeners (except with the occasional FRper and then he took 'em on) and he had info and his own personal style. I definitely think he should be on the airwaves somewhere. I've emailed varous outlets and hope it was at least noted.

This is a guy one could really imagine having a beer with (as the saying goes) and a good chat with him as a human being, not just a talk show host. Not a persona, not a media syndicate creation, but a guy who's been around for a long time and just says what he thinks, like it or not. I hope to be able to listen to him LIVE soon.

it reminds me of two local sports talk guys, Billy Ray Smith Jr. and Scott Kaplan (now of the Mighty 1090). When '690' let them go, they would sneak in and make MP3-type files that we could listen to ... it was great. People would say, 'Hi' to them, and then get a funny look on their face like, "Weren't they let go?" It went on for weeks (in San Diego).

Because I wont be getting XM ever. I selected Sirius when I bought my car by choice (the manufacturer of my vehicle allows one to select which service they want -- fortunately, they had just the right color and package option I wanted with Sirius -- so that sold me, the car was just an afterthought) and I am never looking back! I had XM on an '06 Acura RL I was test-driving... I was not impressed with the XM (or the vehicle, really).

Sirius has better liberal talk than Air America, I think. As much as Lynn Samuels' voice drives me up the goddamn wall... she IS pretty fun to listen to over lunch. And they also have Thom Hartman and Alex Bennet.

Ya'll can keep Al Franken, IMO.

well, I know many folks that are going to PICK UP a Sirius receiver for the races, and are KEEPING XM for the better sound quality and the other features they don't have on Sirius (like AAR, the NASCAR shows, the Hockey coverage, the College games, etc...) Doing a complete switchout for 3-5 hours a week is just plain stupid, pig-headed and shows a lack of common sense IMNSHO...

now I'll check it nightly to get my report on Mike's progress. It takes allot of class for Mike to be so nice to Peter Werbe. I know Peter isn't much worse than the foreclosure buyer moving into the neighborhood, but I really admire Mike for not allowing this to change his relationship with Peter.

I'm a Nazi because I posted that Mr. Malloy most likely broke federal law by breaking into the AAR website (yes even if his login was still valid if he accessed without authorization he broke in, if you have a key to an apartment and you move but keep the key and you enter that apartment you are breaking and entering). I don't wish ill upon the guy, I just hope he acts rationally and doesn't continue to do this or the management of AAR will react and they will react legally and Malloy would be in the wrong here.

I used to love Mike Malloy. He was the only one out there in the dark days before AAR who really expressed the fear and anger we felt over what Bush was doing.

But anyone who associates with, and represents as experts, Larouchies is dangerous IMHO and now we can add computer tampering (the more appropriate term for his crime) to the list. AAR was right to fire him and if Randi Rhodes continues to promote conspiracist nonsense on her show they'd be smart to fire her too.
