Judges pressed for answers
Judges pressed for answers
Questionnaire from conservative Johnson County group covers abortion and religion.
By DIANE CARROLL
The Kansas City Star
The questionnaire sent to Johnson County judges is to the point:

•Was Roe v. Wade (the landmark abortion case) wrongly decided?

•Should the judicial branch have the authority to order the Kansas Legislature to fund state programs at a specified level?

•Do you agree with rulings that have restricted communities from commemorating their Christian heritage?

Those are among a dozen questions sent to eight district court judges who face retention votes on the November ballot.

A conservative political action committee called the Kansas Judicial Review of Johnson County sent the questions. Its chairman, Tim Golba of Olathe, said the committee plans to use the answers to recommend which judges should be retained.
