The Hidden Draft in Our Schools - A Case Study: Klein High
Edited on Mon Sep-18-06 12:31 PM by NoSheep
Someone just sent me this link.

http://www.thepriceofliberty.org/06/08/21/may.htm

Last year the big scandal in the Houston-area recruiting racket was Sergeant Thomas Kelt, who threatened those he was recruiting with arrest if they didn't enlist into the Army, thereby giving a new meaning to "impressing potential recruits."

This year the scandal has come back with a vengeance, with reports that the same recruiter who coerced the clueless last year, far from being removed from recruiting, has been promoted -- to be in charge of other recruiters.

Top generals are urging the Bush League to pull out of an ill-conceived war in Iraq, which has worn out equipment and burned out personnel to the point that we no longer have a viable back-up military force. Still, no argument seems able to sway the man who urged the Iraqi Resistance to "bring it on" three years ago, when he boasted of victory in the war we have clearly lost.
(snip)

edited to say: sorry if this was posted before.

1. He should receive whatever punishment the military prescribes for this
He is violating their own rules, I'm sure of it.

Our recruiters in the early 80s were pretty cool-their pitch was what the military could do for you as a person and for your future career. They could be persuasive, but that is their job. It is not their job to threaten kids.

One of my friends got recruited at the mall, not by the guy who came to the school. She was poor recruit material, being an undiagnosed schizophrenic and all. They sent her home from basic with a medical discharge, because she had a really good CO that told her it was the recruiter's fault for not checking with her school counselor first.
The guy who came to the school developed friendships with the kids in order to better assess their potential.

My little sister used to torment the poor guy every career day, though. She'd tell him she wanted to be a Thunderbird. He told her there were no female Thunderbirds. She told him she wanted to be the first.

Finally, he asked her if she was serious, or just giving him a hard time. She confessed the latter, and he told her if she had been serious and met all the criteria, he would have looked into it for her and supported her desire.

4. MY recruiters enver lied, but they did skip a few details
Your average military recruiter has the perfect skill set to be an axce as pre owned vehicle sales.
