Poll question: A year ago, calling the Bush cabal Nazis elicited flame wars even here
Even Jon Stewart slammed Demss who made the comparison.

How do people feel today?

1. Considering the cabal are throwing fascist flames of their own, all
bets are off. If the shoe fits...

3. I still say Bush is a lot more like Mussolini,
or even Kim Jong Il.

12. If Bush is Mussolini, who, then, is Cheney?
Rove as Goebbels?

As for the Bush resemblance to Kim Jong-il... I'd go with likening him to Kim's missile with changes... Bush:Bum-Dong-Ill (Ding-Dong-ill is too kind).

7. Republicans and radical christians
are domestic enemies of the constitution. I don't know if that makes them Nazis but it pisses this Veteran off to no end. I would welcome a "christian" or a republican to jump right in and set me straight about your desires to warp the constitution in the name of Jesus Christ. "Christians" hate the notion that all Americans should share constitutional liberties. They long for a theocracy. I suggest they move to Iran to satisfy their craving.

8. When I hear thoughtful and intelligent people need to resort ...
...to saying that we are not as bad as Hitler or Stalin because Bush hasn't murdered as many people as they did yet I get a cold chill down my spine.

Say what you want about Clinton I don't ever remember anyone comparing him to mass murderers.

10. Excellent Point
Body Count should not be a criteria. However, in an ironic twist, bush supporters just love body count numbers and have absolutely no concern about how many Americans must die to further his policies.

14. They're still fascists. They're still authoritarian. They're still
capable of maintaining control via force, manipulation and criminal acts.

They're still the same as always.

15. My mother lived under Hitler 1938-45
She says the propaganda, the tactics, the lies, the loss of rights is the same as she saw back then. I think I can believe someone who has experienced it.

16. I expounded on this at length yesterday in another thread.
Edited on Mon Sep-18-06 11:58 AM by vickitulsa
I've been working on an OP on this exact topic. Before I'm quite ready, Kentuck starts a thread that's so closely related that I responded to it in some depth with what follows here:

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=364&topic_id=2154638&mesg_id=2159213

That thread was in its endstages, unfortunately, when I posted my contribution to it, which may or MAY NOT be why there were no direct responses there.

Please check it out if you have a serious interest in the comparison of *'s criminal bunch to the Nazis of 1930's Germany and how Hitler consolidated his power well before WWII began and right in front of everyone's eyes, keeping in mind the question of whether or not * & Co are using similar or even the precise, SAME tactics as Hitler. They did work very well for history's greatest monster in the 1930's....

(Warning: It's a long read, but you can scan thru it if you like; and do please read the quote from William Shirer that I included at the end of my post. He was there in Germany, a citizen, and he kept a diary of his observations at the time. That's the source of the quote I included in my post. Shirer was later to become well known and respected for his comprehensive work, The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich.)

THANKS! And I welcome any comments from DUers -- OF COURSE! :)
