Dems Chastised Whe Gas Prices Rose; Now Chastised When Gas Prices Drop

<snip>

Over the past few days, one of the conservative radio talking points has been to lambaste liberals with regard to falling gasoline prices.

Mark Levin, for example, made fun of "Schmucky Schumer" (Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY), and demanded that Schumer apologize to the American people for questioning earlier this year whether Big Oil was artificially hiking prices.

With misdirection, of course, conservatives can simultaneously chastise those who ask questions ... without providing any answers.

1. Jan. '01 Bush Took Office Gas Nat. Avg. was $1.45 - Jan '06 Nat Avg

was $2.32 per gallon. From 1999 through 2005 the National Median Income dropped 2.8%.

All that and record profits for oil companies and retirement packages for their CEO's... even as taxpayers offer corp welfare to these poor unfortunate :sarcasm: hogs.

4. India & China demand?
Republicans were talking that up a few months ago. Guess they all went back to bicycles.

2. dumping summer blend
to make room for the winter blends... and oh yeah... there's a (s)election in November

at the moment the gas is trending downward... any bets out there we'll see it spike after November 7?

3. First Wed. in November
look for at least a .30/gal price hike. Followed by .02/gal every day for at least 2 weeks.

5. you got that about right...
my partner was just telling me that our oil bill will be paid off by the end of September..

she asked if we should get another delivery right away or wait because the prices were going down.

I told her to give the oil company a call, find out the prices for this week so we can gauge how it's stacking up against gas prices. Typically heating oil is about 10-cents cheaper than the gas...

If gas is still dropping by middle of October - to call again, find out the price and then call for a delivery the Saturday before the election.

we're also busy stacking cord wood for the winter. Had 2 cords delivered last weeknd, another 2 coming this weekend and another 2 the following weekend. Need 9 cords total, but we managed to get an additional 3 cords over the summer from a neighbor who switched to pellet stove, so he gave us the 3 cords for nothing... we just had to haul it
