David Corn on C-Span appx 7:45am
Edited on Mon Sep-18-06 06:42 AM by DemReadingDU
Mr. Corn talks about the new book he co-authored, Hubris, The Inside Story of Spin, Scandal, and the Selling of the Iraq War, and his description of the role played by columnist Robert Novak and Richard Armitage in revealing that Valerie Plame Wilson was a CIA employee.

1. After all the accusation Novakula leveled the other day
David needs the chance to defend himself.

2. Is Rob on some kinda happy juice this morning?
He's really lightened up this morning. Usually he tends to be really buttoned down.

3. I am reading "Imperial Hubris" which is interesting.
I do find it hard to read all these new books. Cost to much to buy them and the library does not always have them. I slowly get them if they come in. I do get Nation in the mail. I broke down and re-picked it up. When I started paying for this PC thing I dropped all papers and mag.

5. "Imperial Hubris"
is Michael Scheuer's second book (2004). Corn & Isikoff's book is "Hubris: The Inside Story of Spin, Scandal, and the Selling of the Iraq War." Both are fascinating reads.

14. All the new Political books were out in library to day. Good Sign?
I knew they were two different books but just throw it in as interest. Funny to use the names so near as I stopped and re-checked the book I had to be sure I had read it right.

6. A funny call .....
a fellow calls in to say, "Who cares about Valerie Plame? We don't talk about her out here..." Then why are you calling in, sir?

7. Looks Like They've Got The Basic Narrative Down
So far no one's connected the dots like the way Corn & Issakoff are laying it out. While I think Corn is blinded by the beltway lights and Isakoff's a weasel, they're hitting on a lot of the major points of what many of us were seeing regarding Iraq.

It's great to see how the Right Wing Mighty Wurlitzer has come out to try to squash this book and Corn. C-SPAN brough on both Novakula and Sticky, Icky Vicky Toensing first to spread their bullshit and trying to slime Corn. When low-lifes like these are that much in spin, there's gotta be a lot of truth in what Corn & Issakoff have dug up.

9. "Hubris" is the
single best book since Ambassador Wilson's "The Politics of Truth" regarding the Plame scandal. It is not perfect, but it is extremely valuable, and should bring new light on the lies that brought us to war in Iraq to the general public.

12. Another Shade Of Light
I was skeptical about this book but the more I'm hearing the the more out of joint the right wing is about it, I'm off to pick up a copy later today.

Like Watergate...this regime's many scandals will be played out over a long period of time and the stories behind them will be best "fed" in small bites. I have no doubt that historians a generation from now will look back on this time as one of the most corrupt and dark in this nation's experience.

11. I think Mr. Corn
did a good job of addressing Ms. Toensing's hypocrisy. Overall, the phone calls and e-mails indicated that a lot of people are interested in, and informed about, this scandal.
