Clark Brings Texas Democratic Convention to It's Feet with Rousing Speech by linking 9/11 to Iraq.

Clark spends several minutes blasting Bush for "command negligence" which he says led to 9/11, then culminates with this:

"Now why am I going back over ancient history? Because it's not ancient, because WE WENT TO WAR IN IRAQ TO COVER UP THE COMMAND NEGLIGENCE THAT LED TO 9/11 (crowd rises to it's feet in standing ovation at this point), and it was a war we didn't have to fight.. That's the truth, and I hope, (crowd going wild at this point) I hope every Democrat around the country sees you all on your feet aknowleging the reality of the world we are living in today thanks to the misleadership of this Republican administration. I've been in war, I don't believe in it, and you don't do it unless there is absolutely, absolutely, absolutely no alternative."

This is a great speech to watch in it's entirety, including a splendid introduction to Clark by a Texas supporter. It was about 18 minutes into the speech that Clark brought the crowd to it's feet by linking the 9/11 command negligence cover-up with Iraq. The rest of the speech is also very good, covering education, health care, the importance of science, and the corruption of scientists for political puposes..."That's not America, we could be so much more."

Saddam's main threat, as is Iran's, is the threat to spread their revolutions (Baathist and Iranian) outside their own boundaries -- how? By turning the throttle valve Wide Open to the oil flow!

Saddam is thus "Napoleon of the Arabs" and the Ayatollah Khomeini the "Napoleon of the Shiites", fiercely pan-nationalistic and secular in Saddam's case, Shiite and anti-Sunni in the late Ayatollah's; money for advancing their causes and the betterment of the nation, and overthrowingg the decadent monarchies. Horror of horror! Cheap oil by two of the largest exporters?

Iraq was the easy mark: too small to be much of a problem (yeah, right Wofowitz...and Rummy) and very close to the peninsula...a puppet government means "privatization" of the oil (brilliant Mr. Cohen) and continual jitters on the trading floors due to the turmoil in Baghdad. Then what? 3 new US bases? Not "holy" soil so no religious fervor from the ortodox Muslims...

The tying of 911 to Iraq was brilliant disinformation. We got pseudoscholars who are too lazy to teach and get their paychecks from Grove Norquist's bosses who want to make FDR the new Lenin and the whole Talibangelist schedule to tell us how Jesus wants us to KILL! KILL! KILL! or else the Temple can't be built in Jerusalem...and without war in Iraq/Iran the citizens of Tel Aviv will be ankle deep in seawater in a week: well, if the collective Arab/Muslim world wanted to march to Tel Aviv, there aren't enough bombs/bullets to stop them from enjoying the sights of the Tel Aviv waterfront with Arabic music instead of Western/Hebrew playing on the beach. Luckily, they haven't decided to do this yet...
