'U.S. holds AP photographer in Iraq 5 mos ' With NO CHARGES!

Associated Press photographer Bilal Hussein poses for a photo in Baghdad, Iraq in this April 8, 2005 file photo. The U.S. military in Iraq has imprisoned Bilal Hussein for five months, accusing him of being a security threat but never filing charges or permitting a public hearing. Military officials said Bilal Hussein, 35, an Iraqi citizen, was being held for 'imperative reasons of security' under United Nations resolutions. AP executives said the news cooperative's review of Hussein's work did not find anything to indicate inappropriate contact with insurgents, and any evidence against him should be brought to the Iraqi criminal justice system. The U.S. military in Iraq has imprisoned an Associated Press photographer for five months, accusing him of being a security threat but never filing charges or permitting a public hearing.

Military officials said Bilal Hussein, an Iraqi citizen, was being held for "imperative reasons of security" under United Nations resolutions. AP executives said the news cooperative's review of Hussein's work did not find anything to indicate inappropriate contact with insurgents, and any evidence against him should be brought to the Iraqi criminal justice system.

Hussein, 35, is a native of Fallujah who began work for the AP in September 2004. He photographed events in Fallujah and Ramadi until he was detained on April 12 of this year.

"We want the rule of law to prevail. He either needs to be charged or released. Indefinite detention is not acceptable," said Tom Curley, AP's president and chief executive officer. "We've come to the conclusion that this is unacceptable under Iraqi law, or Geneva Conventions, or any military procedure."

1. Ah to be a journalist in Baghdad
Where the likelihood of being killed outright by the American military,
wounded, held hostage by the weirder more fanatical elements in Iraq, or held hostage by
the American military, yet still news people from around the world attempt to
tell the breaking story from a very dangerous hot spot

2. Abuse and abuse and abuse
The bush people abuse everything without fail, the law, justice, decency... they're like a terminator,
they'll never ever stop until you are abused too; stop them.

4. Think of all the photos
This purient photographer casts a net across history,
and photographed are the mongolian horsemen of Chinghis Khan, the sinking
ships of a maligned attacked planned by stupid koreans on japan, the defeat
of evil armies in massive seiges across the south of asia for centuries,
and the photo albums are bulging with deaths and torture, forts and battlements,
for a cycle of human time.

We *KNOW* what happened in Fallujah, Sabra and Ramadhi, and the lies of media
dissuade for a while,

the fell hand of justice.
