1. Hey, why not do special outreach out to all the 16-year olds out there?
THEY'LL be old enough to vote in 2008...they don't get drafted first...

2. Good idea
But I'm aiming the site more toward activism and less toward just voting.

7. Nice site and a good idea
Perhaps you could do some social networking for your site through The Sunlight site. They organize ordinary citizens to do investigative work to put a little sunlight on our current lawmakers. There are all kind of projects there and they have just opened up a new networking site:

Written by Ellen Miller on September 14, 2006 - 9:44am.

The Sunlight Network -- our sister 501 c 4 organization -- was launched yesterday with great fanfare. You should check some of the initial ways we hope to create a network of citizens who are engaging in accountability work. There's a pretty neat new project you can find there that you can work on immediately. We also launched a social networking site for Sunlighters -- the commmunity of folks who want to work with us on a regular basis. The primary purpose of that site is to provide a useful forum for distributed research and activism -- to figure out together the kinds of things it makes sense to work on jointly. It enables individuals to connect one on one, as groups, and work collectively on projects. Think of it as MySpace for people who want to demand more transparency from lawmakers.

8. we need to get the kids in middle school
They *are* interested. The kids in my child's school come to us for information. They are not too young to learn.

9. I'll have mine take a look at this site.
They're hopelessly indoctrinated on the topics within the front section of the Washington Post and the Latest Hot Topic on C-SPAN's Washington Journal, but not all willingly but through osmosis.
