I received this from a friend of a friend of a right winger

Though i admit this has become rediculously easy to refute.

It's the Clinton Body Count fable. Go to snopes.

http://www.snopes.com/inboxer/outrage/clinton.htm

Sheesh cons are dumb. You would think they would know better then this by now.

.....

*List every dead person with even the most tenuous of connections to your subject. It doesn't matter how these people died, or how tangential they were to your subject's life. The longer the list, the more impressive it looks and the less likely anyone is to challenge it. By the time readers get to the bottom of the list, they'll be too weary to wonder what could possibly be relevant about the death of Clinton's mother's chiropractor.
* Play word games. Make sure every death is presented as "mysterious." All accidental deaths are to be labelled "suspicious," even though by definition accidents occur when something unexpected goes wrong. Every self-inflicted death discussed must include the phrase "ruled a suicide," to imply just the opposite. When an autopsy contradicts a "mysterious death" theory, dispute it; when none was performed because none was needed, claim that "no autopsy was allowed." Make liberal use of words such as 'allegedly' and 'supposedly' to dismiss facts you can't contradict with hard evidence.
* Make sure every inconsistency or unexplained detail you can dredge up is offered as evidence of a conspiracy, no matter how insignificant or pointless it may be. If an obvious suicide is discovered wearing only one shoe, ignore the physical evidence of self-inflicted death and dwell on the missing shoe. You don't have to establish an alternate theory of the death; just keep harping that the missing shoe "can't be explained."
* If the data doesn't fit your conclusion, ignore it. You don't have to explain why the people who claim to have the most damaging goods on Clinton — Gennifer Flowers, Paula Jones, Kathleen Willey, Linda Tripp, Monica Lewinsky, Kenneth Starr — are still walking around unscathed while dozens of bit players have been bumped off. It's inconvenient for you, so don't mention it.
* Most importantly, don't let facts and details stand in your way! If you can pass off a death by pneumonia as a "suicide," do it! If a cause of death contradicts your conspiracy theory, claim it was "never determined." If your chronology of events is impossible, who cares? It's not like anybody is going to check up on this stuff . . .

7. I very much recommend reading what Snopes has to say about this
It was a fascinating read, seeing them deconstruct every one of the lies. Although I have changed my mind about what they say about Waco. I do blame Clinton and Reno for that. THere was just no justification for killing all those innocent people. But that is more Reno that Clinton. And that list does not contain the names of anyone who was killed by Clinton's bombing of other countries. They don't count though because they are brown.

30. I like this part of the snopes info:
Dannemeyer's list of "suspicious deaths" was largely taken from one compiled by Linda Thompson, an Indianapolis lawyer who in 1993 quit her year-old general practice to run her American Justice Federation, a for-profit group that promotes pro-gun causes and various conspiracy theories through a shortwave radio program, a computer bulletin board and sales of its newsletter and videos.

Her list, called "The Clinton Body Count: Coincidence or the Kiss of Death?" then contained the names of 34 people she believed died suspiciously and who had ties to the Clinton family. Thompson admitted she had "no direct evidence" of Clinton killing anyone. Indeed, she said the deaths were probably caused by "people trying to control the President" but refused to say who they were.

from a relative who claims to be a good christian. I searched and debunked the story in two seconds. I reply-ed to all (about 20 people) with the proof and a note saying that it wasn't very christian to spread rumors and that you should take the time to check these e-mails out before you pass them around. The sender reply-ed back to everyone that it was all a test to see who would check the story out because he wanted to teach us all a lesson because as a christian he understood what it is like to be persecuted. Can you beat that.
I just sent back a note asking him not to send me anymore e-mails like that. I haven't heard for him again.

In what universe is Mr. Clinton eligible for re-election?

I suppose the point that your emailer is subtly making is that a Hillary Clinton Presidency would be a repeat of Bill's Presidency.

If that were so, I would walk 500 miles to vote for her.

But is it really so? Who says so?

How does this email support the inference it is making in it's title, it's thesis statement, if you will?

Curious, aint' it?

As I said, I don't want to believe Clinton to be this kind of man, but at the same time, if republicans are led to believe these accusations are true, no wonder Clinton is hated by them with so much passion and hate.

You could search my name, every post I ever wrote is pro-democratic. I want us to win in November.

After reading this laundry list of deaths that have been supposedly traced back to the Clinton administration I came to realize why republicans hate Clinton so much. It's not because of an affair, it's because *THEY* believe these murders were in Clinton's hands.

I know Clinton was the best president we had in my lifetime. With that said, I don't think there's anything wrong with questioning our leaders. We're suppose to be smarter than the repukes. ...I often wondered why half our country hated Clinton so intensely. I found this post very enlightening as to why republicans feel the way they do.

These lies were part of the witch hunt that almost brought Clinton down--the hatred came before the "scandals."

10. Danny Casolero Is An Obvious Lie,....
---- I've seen this crap before, too. And I was also a journalist and covering the Casolero story at the time of his suspicious death. Casolero was actually homing in on some vital linkage in the BCCI scandal,... connecting the Saudis (and bin Laden family) to the GOP Treasury Dept, and the Bush family all to the crooked bank. It was a big story for about a week, and then suddenly it disappeared from media coverage. Best source for details that I am aware of is the coverage by the Village Voice. Try a google. This was around 1988, Ok? And Casolero's death definitely looked suspiciously tied to the republican administration and/or the Bush family,... CIA involved as well. It was a travesty.

If they have a case to make, demand that they make it (they won't because they don't).

Off the top of my head:
Jim McDougal died from poor health, and it was Starr & co. who controlled the conditions under which he was kept. When his ex-wife wouldn't lie to back up the lies Starr & co. convinced him to tell, they let him rot.

Casolaro: If he's on anybody's "body count list", it's the BFFE's.

Vince Foster: investigated eight ways to sunday: insinuating it was anything other than a suicide stands as proof of the idiocy and dishonesty of this list.

and so on...

36. well, one can look at Vince Foster's death with a different perspective
Clinton was newly elected supposedly to rejuvenate social programs, such as a health insurance plan, especially after Reagan and Bush-but Bush needed to get re-elected to continue that path for a NWO, and further weaken social infrastructure- but he didn't, so Foster was the shot across the bow, to keep Clinton in line--health insurance plan dropped, NAFTA-GATT passed, Telecommunications Act passed, Welfare deform act passed. And the biggest thing, is no follow up on the Iran-Contra, BCCI scandal. Then, with a Republican Congress, spend millions of taxpayers money to investigate bogus allegations, so that he becomes ineffectual. Throw the McDougals in prison until they lie for you. Well, see, I can start a rumor also, and lay the death of Vince Foster at someone else's feet. After all, Vince Foster was a dear friend of the Clintons, so dear, that maybe he was used as a message. So, how's my tinfoil hat?:tinfoilhat: ;-)

37. Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.
These are all assertions without any evidence. The burden of proof is on those peddling this nonsense. Tell them that. That is all you have to say because if you start debunking these one by one, they will just say, "Ok you might be right about that one, but about this one here?" You can't win at that game. It is just the same as the JFK conspiracy theories - the burden of proof lies with those making the claims.
