Tonight run in with two yahoo Replugs
I went in to local Dunkin Donuts to pick up a six pax og donuts. Ya I know shut up. Heres the Story.
In the coner of the shop sat a 65 year old lady with a vote Democrat pin on.
Two you know the type short hair punks walk in. Saw her pin and started up calling her hey bitch.
She got a little shock up.

Here come my part. I was wearing my 101st Airborne tee with a pin the had FB on it.
Punk chickenhawk said hey that your unit. I look dead into his eyes and said no,it means Fuck Bush.
Punk gets all red face said You ass hole. I said what you never seen an ass hole before. Shacking now mad as hell takes a weak swing at me. Block it put him into a hold. His buddy runs out the Door.

The little older women walk up to the punk said your just like Bush all mouth no action. I started LOL and let him go. I said son someday you will learn that your buddy Bush is going to jail. As he ran away crying he yell out Bush will get you all.

Dam guys they are still out there. So be on the watch they are looking for trouble.

that isn't REALLY committed, don't really care, but does this sort of thing to be in your face more than anything else. I'll bet they don't even vote.

Of course, that doesn't mean that these guys won't be there if Right Wing fascists get even more power, "with bells on", if not brown shirts, kicking ass and taking names. You did good calling them out.

13. Let me tell you about my 67 year old dad....
Montana. Homespun shooting range.

My dad has his Kerry/Edwards sticker on his car and is target practicing with a cool old Mosin Nagant I gave him.

Two guys pull up. My dad had returned from putting a target up (using one of those hand-squeeze staple guns). The guys are hanging around my dad's car.

My dad approaches them and one of the guys says, "you one of those liberals?" and he peels part of the sticker off my dad's car. My dad says, "Yes" and then shoots the guy in the face with the staple gun and then punches him in the face. Both those republican punks scramble off and never return.

GO DAD. He's an old school, fist fighting union radical and taught these motherfuckers a lesson..at 67 years of age!

29. Wannabe brownshirts-in-training, that's what that is.
I'm telling you, this president (and his portable chorus) enables rogue, pre-emptive, renegade, thuggish Nazi behavior and encourages picking fights with people they assume or presume to be weak or an 'enemy.'

That's why Democrats have GOT TO STOP this "let's reason with them" strategy. THEY CAN'T BE REASONED WITH because that would require them to have a functioning brain and a conscience. They need to have their asses kicked (metaphorically and sometimes literally). That's the only way they'll quit what they're doing.

Nothing that "a boot in the ass" wouldn't cure. Right, Mr. Keith? After all, "It's the American way!"

33. Every time I see a Story like this I think of the people who would
Frown on what you did and start in with the "We must be better people", and "We must not lower ourselves to their level", and "We must not become monsters ourselves in the process of defeating them."

My response to this, when it comes to dealing with this particular kind of animal that you subdued tonight is simple.....

Reason with them HOW?

With this particular kind of person, you are dealing with an adversary that cannot be reasoned with. it doesn't want to be reasoned with. It merely wants to follow, tow the line, and it would rather die for a lie than face the truth.

It is lost, hopeless, and it will not come around, and if allowed to, it will be happy to physically harm of even kill that which it disagrees with.

It is against these types of predators that we MUST be prepared to defend ourselves with force if necessary, and if it comes to that, enough force where at the very least they will think twice about ever trying to be a billy bad ass again, and at worst.....

Well, if it's your life or theirs, a person cannot reasonably be expected to turn the other cheek if the end result means becoming a statistic, now can they?

One more thing. The way of Gandhi, the way of passive resistance is the most noble of pursuits, and non-violent paths to solutions should be sought first, and the darker path of resistance should ideally be of last resort.

But at the same time, I would like to know how many Jews escaped the scourge of the Nazis by "Not sinking to their level", and "Turning the other cheek."

Sometimes, on the path to defending what is right, it is necessary to fight fire with fire.

And we must not be afraid or hesitate for an instant to do so.

My 2 cents.

You did good Monkeyman.

Cheers to you.

36. You know the description you put forth sounds like one I would
use to describe a terrorist. "...an adversary that cannot be reasoned with. it doesn't want to be reasoned with. It merely wants to follow, tow the line, and it would rather die for a lie than face the truth." The only difference is that they have yet strapped on the bombs. I'll be damned if they ever get the authority from me to exercise any power over me whatsofucking ever.

Cause I was thinking... "I work for Yahoo too!". But thank goodness I don't work for a company that employs jackbooted thugs. At least I don't think so. Terry Semmel may be more of a Republican than I'd like, but there are others on his staff that are Dems and most people here have a degree of sanity.

Good for you though in standing up to these people that choose to use their fists rather than their brains.

40. Those idiots sound like a characature almost....
Where do you live? I live in NC (considerably Red nationanally but blue on the state level) and I've yet to meet one human being who would take a swing at your over an FB pin.

Those boys sound like idiots who have nothing better to do than harrass old ladies and would have done it no matter what the issue was.

Most of the Bush supporters round here are misguided, church goers with two or three kids who vote Democrat mostly because they don't see a lot of support for families who don't qualify for social benefits in the Democratic Party.

I read DU all the time, and I hear alot about "Jack booted Thugs" but they just don't exist around here. I'd like to know where they are and avoid those places at all costs.

41. I don't know where you are in NC, but here in my rural area of NC...
I've had my car keyed for my political beliefs. I had Kerry bumperstickers torn off my car, and another time covered with *Bush bumperstickers. I've been shunned and ostracized by co-workers. I've been screamed at IN SUNDAY SCHOOL. I can easily believe this kind of thing could happen around here. That's why I don't have any really good bumperstickers on my car. I'm afraid of being run off one of our very curvy and hilly roads, or shot at by some of these good ol' boy types. I have to be alive to vote, and I don't want to die for an Impeach *Bush sticker.

Yes, you are correct that most *Bush supporters are misguided. But they have also been conditioned to see this as an "us or them" and "my team is better than your team" type of issue. They have been encouraged to treat this as if it were a sporting event, and they have to support Team *Bush at all costs, blindly and mindlessly. And they're being encouraged oftentimes by their religious leaders, who equate *Bush with Christianity.

45. Maybe it's because I've always lived in the urban centers of NC
Charlotte and Raleigh, excepr for the two years we lived in Cashiers and that's mostly rich out of towners (my wife had to teach there for her grant right after she graduated). The locals there are really poor.

It must have something to do with education level is all I can figure.

Crazy.

48. You pretty much got it.
I live in Jamestown and my parents were from very rural areas. My family is still pretty red,and I do think it is interesting, the differnce between rural NC and the big cities. G'boro was usually about 50/50; but I think it's gotten more blue lately. WS is red as they come, due to the mills and tobacco. Same for High Point. SO glad my man works in Charlotte!
It's quite a study. If you go outside your city, be prepared. IF you don't want to fend off ppl like this, keep your mouth shut. I hate to say it,but it's the truth....these rural familes have to come to this realization on their own.(I'm not saying you SHOULD keep quiet, just that this situation would not be unusual) Remember, we're the state that eleceted Jesse Helmes...MORE Than once!!
