When I find myself in a situation where I want to speak out on a topic...be it politics, justice, the War, etc...and I let fear creep into my mind that makes me doubt my words, I am going to think of this picture and how courageous and strong Ann Richards was.

She is a formidable role model that we all should emulate.

I am going to miss her.

36. I've always loved the Super Bowl commercial.
It's a Lay's potato chip commercial with Ann Richards and Mario Cuomo right after they lost re-election in their respective states. Mario says to Ann,"I'm sorry to hear about the Cowboys." Ann then retorts, "They always won when I was governor."

I wish shed been a president, vice president senator....
something more on the national stage where people could see a genuine person with flaws who made it through with dignity, beauty and intelligence.
If Ann had been president we'd never had to deal with these loser fuckin retardicans in office right now.

I LOVE you Ann!
