And that would only be a first step. Sorry, George. It has to be done so the rest of us can go on.

4. Someone has to be the fall guy. Just like the end of The Maltese Falcon,
when the cops are coming guy for the cops and Spade announces that "Someone's gotta take the rap" and it gets pinned on young Wilmer and Mrs. O'Shaunnesey.

This is how the world works.

5. Bush isn't exactly the fall guy...he's the head torturer in charge
the rest of his regime..and I do mean all of them...including those resigned and retired who aided in his any aspect of his crimes....should be imprisoned as well.

10. The thought of any of them getting away with it makes me ill
I haven't forgotten Ashcroft...and Powell can do the right thing from now until the day he dies and he still has to answer to the people for his actions.

13. They will NOT get away with it.
It will catch up to them someday, and we will witness their ugly downfall.

8. True but this is not about justice. It is about pragmatically and rapidly
diffusing a horrible and worsening situation. Plain and simple. It is Machiavellian. Something Bush's handlers understand, no doubt.

18. Sorry...it's about justice for me.
Going after Bush but leaving those just as guilty alone would do nothing to get America on a different path....it would still be the same old shit as always...and that same old shit is what got us into this mess.

Look at Iran-Contra. They're back. And they are back because they weren't stopped then...let's stop them now. Even if it hurts. Even if it brings shame. Even if America has to learn to crawl again...

This is about the kind of America we could have.. because the America we have now isn't much of an America at all.

They can probably dig up worse stuff on Cheney than Bush. I fully expect all of this to happen and that Nancy Pelosi will be the first woman (and Italian-American) president. My biggest concern beside the midterm election is whether they might replace Cheney before the proceedings.

20. Impeachment is bueno,
but there is a BIGGER picture.

This is the time to drive a fucking STAKE through the COLD, BLACK HEART of the FAILED Conservative Doctrine.

Kill the "Greed Is GOOD" monster ONCE and FOR ALL!

The Democratic Party is a BIG TENT, but there is NO ROOM for those
who advance the agenda of THE RICH (Corporate Owners) at the EXPENSE of LABOR and the POOR.

21. I have friends and family abroad that have actually said that very thing!
They still cannot understand all the outrage over Bill Clinton's affair and impeachment over a lie about receiving a BJ, yet Americans will allow torture, rendition, illegal wars and occupation, wiretapping without warrants and crimes against humanity.

Yes, impeachment would be a necessary first step to restoring good will and faith in the US again. Although I will say that George W. has done so much, it may take decades and it may never be what it once was, no matter what we do.

I'm always worried that the rest of the world sees George Bush as the face of America.

29. They do and they don't: They can't stand the US Gov't and see the people
as separate. They know there are many people in this country who oppose Bush, yet they don't understand why so many of us are so silent in allowing them to get away with what they are getting away with.

My family and friends in Europe keep asking when the American people are going to start marching in the streets. I ofcourse don't know what to answer and I tell them that I too wonder the same.
