Note to Skinner, EarlG et al re: Jesus Camp
I regularly donate to DU. I understand that, as a donor, I have the ability to turn off the ads, though I am not sure how to do this. I have chosen to view the ads because I feel that DU may benefit from my viewing and possibly clicking on them and anything that benefits DU is a good thing in my book.

That said, I HATE the Jeebus camp ad! I ask that it be removed, banished, destroyed and sent straight to hell. I will withhold any future funds from DU till that pathetic, brainwashed little girl is removed from this site and sent to an intervention where she can get some help with her cult issues.

Sincerely,
B. Gill

3. Psst ...
Jesus Camp is extremely critical of the abuse of Christian children by the "Pastors" who exist to shear their "sheep".

She's a cute little girl, I agree -- she looks a lot like my niece Abby -- but the work we do today will lead to a world in which she can be free in matters of thought and faith.

6. Oh, by the way
Rent Saved! if you have the opportunity. It's one of the best movies I've seen in years. It demolishes the pretenses of pop Christianity without depersonalizing Christians.

Four Stars and Three Wise Men.

4. I think it's a movie
that's supposed to show the weirdness of the fundies. I clicked on it awhile ago and though it's not all that obvious I don't think it's a fundie movie. I could be wrong though, I have a sensitive gag reflex around all things related to fundie idiots and I could feel that I was close to a retch or two just looking at some of the vacant stares of those poor kids in a cult.

5. You can turn off Google ads but not preimum ads
:(

Still I have read many negative posts on that Jesus Camp ad. It is also showing up on other Dem sites like Crooks and Liars.

7. Hmmmm. It may in fact be a worthy movie but
I still can't stand that little, misguided girl. Like an earlier respondant said, anything thak smaks of fundies makes me vomit.

8. Jesus Camp showed at Silverdocs Documentary Festival
at the same time my film, Can Mr. Smith Get to Washington Anymore? showed. It was made by the filmmakers who made Boys of Baraka. It dissects the fundies, but the fundies seem to think it makes them look good, go figure.

11. Well, the fundies think standing around with "God hates fags"
signs makes them look good. Go figure.

10. A little tiny grey x sometimes appears
in the upper right corner of this hideous banner, and that x magically destroys the ad, at least until you click on another link, at which time it reappears (sometimes without the magic x).

My solution is to scroll down past it, but it's still disturbing each time I open a new page.
