2. Considering all of the things he can be criticized for.....
you choose his press conference backdrop?

No offense, but it appears petty. And most Americans are not going to fault a President for having American flags behind him, no matter that there's seven of them.

4. I think it's emblematic of his wrapping himself in our flag...
when he does daily battle with the principles of the Founders.

8. It's a vague criticism which doesn't resonate.
Show me a politician who doesn't wrap him/herself in the flag.

Talk about specifics...give people something to sink their teeth into. Criticizing him having a few flags behind him devalues other important criticisms.

10. I agree -- I wouldn't recommend it as a focus for the DNC.
Just posting it here at DU.

14. I disagree. It's interesting to see how they use "theater" as a propaganda
tool.

Much like this:

3. Look, they found Bob Ney's Pink Elephant!
That's what the picture at the bottom made me think of, his "I drink" excuse from yesterday.

As for the background, well, can't have the world forgetting that it's the 'Murikan People that are talking about making torture legal by sanctioning it in our laws.

5. What do you expect from the $¢rew York Time$?
You know Ad Nags and his fellow PRE$$TITUTE$ consider it an honor to have brown lipstick smeared all over their faces, and they love to flaunt it!

9. but in all fairness
The NYT didn't create the background. They just shot a picture of what was presented for them to shoot a picture of. It's not as if they had the option on the set design. :eyes:

6. I deeply mistrust people who wrap themselves in the American flag.
So to speak. Or 7 American flags, in this case.

Yes, this was overkill. I saw the same pic in today's Chicago Tribune.

7. Look at how small he looks--its emblematic .....
of some deep seated insecurities. He knows he's a pretender.

12. Once upon a time, a REAL president only needed ONE American
flag, and ONE flag with the presidential seal.

Using multiple flags as a mobile decorative bunting has come into fashion with these jerks, but it is WRONG and UNSEEMLY.

It is the distraction device of a scoundrel.

13. bu$h*'s entire outfit was "color coordinated" with the set
wish he and his advisers would spend half the time doing the job they are paid (by us) to do rather than creating damn photo sets.
