7. Bill Maher said he was asked to do a free speech segment on CBS's

Evening News. He wanted to talk about religion. They sent him a list of acceptable topics. Religion wasn't one of them so ... no free speech for Bill on CBS News.

He also mentioned how on the first night Katie Couric said free speech was a "privilege". Bull. Free speech is a right.

It's a liberty.

Not a privilege that can be revoked at will. But not a right in the sense that the government must go out of its way to ensure you speak freely. It's a liberty in the sense that the government ordinarily may not take steps to keep you from speaking.
