Raw story is reporting Bush to use illegal spying as an asset!

http://www.nytimes.com/2006/01/23/politics/23spy.html?ei=5065&en=b8a73e937d46e97f&ex=1138597200&partner=MYWAY&pagewanted=print

This is SURREAL. He breaks the law. He sticks up both middle fingers to America and says he is going to keep doing it. And, now...HE IS GOING TO USE IT AS A STRENGTH.

All I have to say is the democrats better damn well stand up and filibuster Alito. This is beyond sick. Bush & co. should be IN JAIL.

I am literally sick to my stomach.

DISGUSTING

:grr:

2. That is the meme
Dan Bartlett was on Katie Curio this morning and said that using illegal spying was exactly what the American public expects their pretzildent to do to protect his cowering massive when big bad boogey mean like Saddam-Osama al-Zawahiri rears his oddly video-taped head.

11. He was also shoveling that BS on CNN
All I can say is that if the American public is truly so stupid as to accept THIS bad spin then maybe we really don't deserve to be free...people that lazy and stupid should be herded, not governed over.

I hope I am wrong but I don't think this meme will fly.

I think MOST people have had it with that incompetent, fascist, criminal, money grubbing thief.

3. If the Dems don't filibuster, I suggest we send them all tubes of
Anal-eze. Cause' that's what they're doing, bending over and taking it. If it was just them that was effected, then fine. But it's not. They're letting the Repubs screw the whole country.

4. Well, he going to TRY to use spying as an asset.
Their assumption is that it is since they can block impeachment this is just a PR problem. Let's see how things go in the senate hearing. I suspect there are some unhappy Republicans.

5. Old strategy. Bush failure to prevent 9/11 attacks was used as asset too
I am still amazed how Bush and Condi & Co got by with their statements that no one could have imagined the 9/11 attacks and that there were no warnings.
Pres Gore would have been castigated and impeached over dropping the ball on Bin Laden in early 2001 and then trying to prevent the 9/11 investigation and covering up the August 2001 memo.

7. Good point

It has always AMAZED me that a video showing a free Osma Bin Laden is a boost for Bush. How stupid can Americans be?

6. They seem to be succeeding in Bin Laden tape as an asset too
Equally mind boggling how they are deflecting any blame for not capturing Bin Laden after all the lives and money spent on Bush's war against terror, by using Bin Laden's message as a means to smear Democrats who are critical of Bush.

12. Well look at it this way bin laden tape is already old news
Notice today they are on to something else...(that would be bush's idiots running around spewing talking points about how great it is that they are spying on us)

This tells me people must have been tuning out in disinterest over the bin laden tape--what I am trying to say is that the bin laden tape didn't generate a whole lot of interest with the public so it's very possible their little PR scheme isn't going to work this time.

Break the law, brag about it and use it against your political enemies. Hitler did something very similar!

15. That's because team Rove...
...thinks public support is with them. So it's our job to turn public support strongly against this. Most people have no fucking clue as to the details. They think, "Oh, it's just Bush wanting to spy on brown muslims." They need to understand that in Bush's Imperial Presidency, there is NO LIMIT on the powers he can ascribe to himself under the repeated rubric of NINE-ELEVEN...

Fuck them, fuck them all.
