If Bush gets his way with the GC, and if these were in force during Hitlers reign.
Could there have been any prosecutions at Nurenburg or any accountability after the war?

I know the GC was in response to that period, but I am curious as to the woulda, coulda shoulda.

1. W is saying that every country can change Article 3 of

International law for their own purposes. The danger in this is that it allows torture as the individual country defines it. He's lost the rule of international law.

It appears the fact is that W knows he's broken the rule of international law and is trying to backpedal to keep from being prosecuted.

As Sean Hannity said, Saddam should have all his finger nails ripped off until Saddam tells us where the WMD's are. Total lunacy. W follows that lunacy.

What I'm trying to get a sense of is, there was no GC during the time of Hitler. But if it did exist in the form that Bush wants, could the Nazi hunters still have chased, nailed, and successfully tried the war criminals of that regime?
I know this is a big hypothetical and I'm not sure whether it is even a credible hypothetical.
