Re: ‘Marines serve this country so we can be free’

I too have a son who is a US Marine and I am very tired of ungrateful people. He has served in Iraq and we believe in their mission over there. God bless our service people. Our son told us about what goes on; we are needed there and I might add we are a Christian nation.

We are supposed to help other people and we keep the fighting over there. We support our president; thank God for him!

4. Oh, by the way, we are a Christian nation
Fucking Fascist just throws that in. Why is seen as acceptable to encourage our children to go overseas and die? That has always struck me as so unusual.

5. Hey, Antoinette (or ANYONE that supports Bush).

As of now, just what is our "mission" in Iraq?

Bush keeps saying that we have to "finish the job". So can anyone explain what the "job" is and how
we will know when it's "finished".

First they said that Iraq needed a working government. Then it was elections. Then a constitution.
Then more elections. So what is it now? Peace and stability? How's the progress on that going?

Is the mission to kill terrorist there so we don't have them killing us here? OK... so that means
we should expect a decrease in the number of terrorists there, so how's THAT going?

7. What does the repubs buddy Lieberman think of the "christian nation"
bit. And, oh by the way, on one side of their mouth we're a christian nation as told to us by Faux news, and the other side they're saying the country is a modern-day Babylon brought on by things such as Nip/tuck on Faux entertainment; which is it??

The Dummies are almost a majority in this country, close enough that they decide every national election.

13. To Ms. Kubie
If your son was truly fighting for freedom, then he and his fellow Marines would be in DC fighting the true enemies of freedom. Don't remember Saddam pushing the Patriot Act or Osama calling for domestic spying.

14. God bless our service people
Service people. Like the guy that mowed my lawn, cleaned my pool, delivered my mail, keeps my sewer system running, teaches my kids, delivers water to my home, build roads for my car... oh wait 60 % of them think Iraq is waste of time...
screw the service people, hail WWIII against the Islamofascists!

Most Americans serve this country, yet I have to kiss their sons butt cause he drinks the kool-aide in this war of aggression? I’ll stand with the majority that are against the war. Demanding the troops get brought home is the most grateful thing Americans can do and this person doesn't get it. They seem like the type of person that kicks you and waits for the "thank you".

17. Amen
Well, well said!!!!

And can you imagine a mom who is actually thankful that her son is placed in danger (along with others) in order to serve those few who make megabucks from war. What a sad, ignorant creature she is. To keep us free, indeed!!

19. I, too, have a son who is a US Marine
(who happens to be a fire-breathing liberal. Yes, they exist...even in the Marine Corp. Ask Paul Hackett and John Murtha).
He's been to Iraq twice and is going back in January.
As his mother, I want to know if this president is so committed to spreading democracy in Iraq, then why hasn't he taken the steps to show that commitment? Like...raising taxes to pay for the war instead of plunging our country into crippling deficits. Or asking Americans to really sacrifice through gas rationing. Or the draft. (uh, he's not really THAT serious about "the greatest threat to America" (his words this week). Not serious enough to risk scaring all the chickenhawk Republicans with actual military service.)
We're losing (if we haven't actually lost at this point. I guess it's semantics) the An bar province, which is the size of Texas and includes Baghdad, Fallujah, and Ramadi.
We're not ungrateful.
We're concerned, truly concerned, about our troops.
And we're really tired of this mindless "support the troops" mindset which ignores reality.
Blind devotion to your government is Nationalism. NOT Patriotism.
Patriots do what is best for their country...not their government.
Antoinette needs to learn the distinction.

20. Wish there was a way that only supporters of the war got killed in it.
Some parents may not mind exchanging the lives of their sons for a rotting macrame' of lies and greed. But others do.

Too bad it's not just the soldiers and parents who blindly support Smirk that get to have those neat military funerals.

BTW, Do they say "Hoo-Ah!" at military funerals these days?
