Jack Cafferty Question: Would you support Obama/Powell in '08? Unity Party
Jack Cafferty and Blitzer pose "Unity Party 08" question teaser just now.
(I've posted about this over in GD Politics that there's a movement by some of Carters former Ops to push this "Unity Party 08" theme. So, it seems CNN is now cooperating with the new effort.

Here's Q and Link:

Cafferty File

Jack Cafferty sounds off on the stories crossing his radar. Write in to answer Jack's hourly questions, and watch to see if he reads your response.

5. Powell has failed America again and again.
He should be finished in politics and credibility.

Obama? Maybe with some more experience.

providing it was Obama/Powell, not Powell/Obama. And providing they weren't opposing a Democratic candidate. Since neither of those things are likely, I'm going with "No, I wouldn't support it."

10. Nope all around........
No for Obama because he is too young, and needs to build national credibility....

And definitely no for Powell since he blew his credibility with his backing the false reasons for *'s Iraq fiasco......

Besides, he's a Republican......last I heard, anyway........

11. No.
Obama's too young. And Powell is permanently suffering from "Head lodged in Bush's Posterior" disease.

But I do think Powell is gearing up to run.

Look for him to re-registar as an independent again.

17. Why do they keep coming up with these moronic pairings..
Kerry/McCain
McCain/Lieberman
Powell/Obama
Giuliani/Lieberman

I wouldn't vote for any of the pairings.

22. No and no.

Top of the ticket: virtually no experience.

Bottom of the ticket: lots of experience doing a mostly poor job.

Not exactly the dream ticket, eh?

23. Does he mean have *two* Republican parties and no Dems?
Why don't we just have *ONE* party?

One party to rule them all.
One party to find them.
One party to bring them all
And in the darkness bind them.

24. Ah, the light-skinned Afro-American ticket...
It's sort of racist to have to obviously play into the "see...they're black" schtick to get into the "unity" game.

First of all, Obama needs more experience. Secondly, there is no way Powell will run...especially as a VP. Both are great people, but it's not only unlikely, but also a bit odd.

27. The only reason Powell has a career is because the
head of the Southern Command went public in 1989 and said that it would be wrong for the US to invade Panama. Bush fired that guy and hired his yes-man, C. Powell.

Powell is one of the most morally rudder-less people in a position of high power that I've ever seen. It would be so wrong to let this guy be anywhere near the presidency or vice-presidency. He needs to take the millions he's made for being the go-to guy for the Right Wing Imperialists and from his son being chair of the FCC, and go away.
