MESSAGE WRITERS NEEDED!!! If we want a Democratic House.
We have to think about the public and how it sees the world. We can write a message as well as Rove can, and we can do so without lying.

While the White House and its minions (as on Fox News) push the War on Terror as a way of framing (i.e., "hiding") the Iraq issue for the election, we need people to bring it out of hiding.

Here's one basic approach (I'm sure there are many others):

"Republicans and the administration don't want to run on the mess they made in Iraq, so like a magician they try to distract our attention by covering it under the umbrella of 'The War on Terror,' thereby hiding their blunders (from the conception to the execution of the war, from WMD's and Sadam-terrorist's links to the civil war which is now in full progress). It's a GIANT SHELL GAME dreamed up by Rove. We need solutions, not PR tricks or a magician's slight of hand. But what do the Republicans do? They dress up the pig and tell us to marry it. More of the same."

Why can't we frame a message simply and compellingly in order to bounce these jokers. Almost all of the important facts are on our side, especially since the Republicians and the administration has been such an obvious failure by almost all standards?

5. Yes, a good one. (But it presumes that people will remember
that Sadam was pulled from a whole, much less a "spider hole." That is, it's good for 20% of Obermann's audience.)

But good thinking. Maybe I'll start a thread on Monday, when everyone's awake, to collect such possible messages in one place. Then we can send on to liberal commentators, high-profile bloggers, and liberal web-sites. (I've dealt with a few in the past and they will generally read my e-mails.)

3. Okay,..... I Tried
---- I was the media and speech-writing person for a state-level democratic candidate in 1976,.. and we won. I got to attend the '76 convention,.. had dinner with Chuck Robb. Spent the 80's doing a variety of direct mail fundraising projects for some pretty heavy hitters,... and then was a member of the board for the Perot campaign in '92. I write articles and essays all the time..... and I recently wrote the "State Sovereignty Resolution" voted on in the Vermont legislature.

---- So I wrote to the Democratic Party with an offer to help out,.. a list of a few suggestions and observations. Gave my "credentials." And all I got back was a request for money.

4. We could have given away 100 millions dollars a day...

since March 20, 2003, and still saved 200 BILLION dollars and 2,669 would still be alive. What could you do with 100 million dollars?

6. A great one. Simple (everyone will understand) and compelling
(everyone cares about their wallets as was said above).

7. "To listen to the administration, Iraq is just a little battlefield at the
edges of The War on Terror, NOT the fight we've sunk nearly 3,000 American lives in and over XXX billion dollars."

That's fairly clear. No memorable lines ("shell game") or boggling stats. like the one above, but it might work well in the middle of a candidate's speach.

allow members of congress to see tapes of the harshest questionings?"

10. ONE NATION UNDER FRAUD
No accountability, three (and soon to be four) questionable elections, no real representive legislature, a war based entirely on bogus intelligence (aka sheer stupidity), a bozo in charge who parades himself around as being a so called "Christian" whilst wanting to legalize sadism which will only "perpetuate (further) retributions" and more anti american sentiment. etc. . .

One major point for the party is that when the accusation of so many voting to authorize the pResident to invade Iraq is so often lobbed at Dems, NONE of them stress the conditional operative phrase in the Iraq war resolution was "WITH UN approval." * never got UN approval. Sheesh.

Can't figure out for the life of me why the heck they don't say that.

11. When we surrender our freedoms, or shred the Constitution
the terrorists win. Surredering OUR freedoms won't stop them from hating us, only changing our foreign policy toward the Middle East will do that.
We MUST keep it simple because half of the American people are below average, and average isn't what it used to be! Sad, but true.
