1. Information given under the influence of drugs is unreliable

same with information gained by torture--can't trust it. Torture has been discredited for a long, long time as a way of gathering pertinent information. People will say anything to get torture to stop.

2. Probably because "truth serum" is kinda bogus...

injecting somebody full of barbiturates won't necessarily lead to them being truthful. The theory goes that:

1) Lying is more complex than telling the truth
2) Barbs dampen higher brain function
3) Since truth is easier than lies, someone shot full of barbs will tell the truth

But that's far from a sure thing.
