Are Republican incumbents generally trying to hide their incumbency?
Here Congressman Addison (Joe) Wilson (no, not that Joe Wilson) just has signs reading "Joe Wilson, Republican for Congress." Now he knows perfectly well that his district was gerrymandered for permanent Republican dominance, so maybe he's just being cheap. But I'm curious whether anyone else is noticing this kind of sign, ie omitting the "Re-elect" part. (I mean apart from Bush-Cheney 2004, but they had very good reason to omit it, not ever having been elected.) Anybody?

2. I've noticed ads on TV that don't even specify which party.
I thought that was strange, but they are hiding it very well if they are indicating any party affiliation at all. These are for state government, and it's almost as if they're embarrassed to admit they're Republican.

I can certainly understand why, but it does seem a bit odd.

3. There was a story about NPR this morning
About Kane (sp?) from New Jersey who's running for senate by disassociating himself from Republicans.

4. They're running from their party here
Here in the Indiana 2nd District, Congressman/Bush Lackey Chris Chocola is in the fight of his life. He crushed Democratic nominees in 2002 and 2004, but this year he's down in all the polls.

In the past, "Count Chocula" has brought in either Dumbya or Dead-Eye Dick to do at least two fundraisers each year for him. This year, they're nowhere to be seen. There has not been ONE image of Chocola and Bush in any of his mailers.

Just this morning, I noticed my creepy freeper neighbor had put out a yard sign. All it says is "Chocola for Congress". Note the lack of "Re-Elect" or "Republican".

I'm usually pretty cautious about polling, but this could be one of three House seats in Indiana to go Democratic on Election night! WOW!

7. On the other hand...
...the withdrawl is simply tactical. Count on any who win prostrating themselves in loyalty to Smirky and Snarly.

10. If you haven't already, you should break this out as a separate thread
Much more interesting than mine, which seems now to be an isolated incident of one really cheap Congressman.

9. I've seen some ads
on TV and some campaign posters as I've traveled through CA and there is no party affiliation mentioned. I am assuming said ads are for Repugs who want to fool people.
