That's 70 cents cheaper than a month or so ago. Golly Oskie, George, just keep on jawboning those OPEC guys...!!!

...so please keep it down and go as low as you can!

1. I'm sure you'll be voting Republican now huh?
I too appreciate the lower gas prices but I can't imagine why they think it will translate to votes for them. Whatever!

32. They think it will translate because there is a correlation
between Bush's polling numbers and the price of gasoline. This was something Hartmann spoke about in the past couple weeks.

6. We're still in the low $2.50's here.
But it is dropping. It sure would be nice if they continued to drop. AND STAYED DOWN. I'm guessing after the election they will "mysteriously" creep up again.

7. WOW! Make sure to vote Republican in November, so those low
gas prices stick around!

(Forget that the price of gas was $1.42 when Bush took office, and he was criticizing Clinton for not doing anything about it.)

:sarcasm:

8. Wasn't gas $1.52 a gallon when Clinton was Pres?
I'll celebrate when gas is $1.52 plus 4% for inflation.

10. Let's just say that when Clinton was president, it took me five
bucks in gas to get to work in Ft Worth and back home and this past summer the same trip was ten bucks.

13. I gave $2.13 yesterday - double neener!
It will stay down until November 8th then Katie bar the door - the oil companies will have to make up for two months of ungodly profits while the gas is down in the lead up to the election.

22. You may...
N.E. Kansas (Kansas City suburb)... Sometimes I go over the state line into Missouri if that gas is cheaper. The stuff I bought this morning was in Kansas.

28. Exactly. It's their "October Surprise".
They'll drop gas below $2 a gallon so they can get the brainwashed, stupid masses to vote for them while they spend every dollar and minute of airtime they have blaming the democrats for the high gas prices. It's so simple and formulaic that it could have come from the latest Hollywood hack.

30. Gee, go figure.
OPEC wants to keep the Republicans in power because they know they'll never develop alternative energy sources. Big oil wants the Republicans in power so they can raise prices and continue screwing us after the election is over.
