Wouldn't it be ironic if it's the Repubs that end up saving
this country?

It is now quite obvious that Bush, Cheney, et al have broken U.S. and International laws. Then, in order to cover their asses, they tried to strong-arm the Congress into changing the laws. Apparently McCain, Warner, Colin Powell and a few others have said enough is enough.

I think even if the Dems don't take at least some power (but I think they will) in November you may yet see charges brought against at least some members of this administration, quite possibly all the way up the chain to Bush and Cheney.

Wouldn't that be amazing?

4. True, I couldn't agree more...
and I think they are all fuckwads for letting it get this far, but I had totally lost all hope that they would finally reach a point where they'd had enough. At this point, it appears as though they have, and I find that amazing.

8. No, they didn't "allow" this to happen ...
the actually encouraged this to happen, and worked hard for this ...

Don't let them off the hook by saying they "allowed it to happen". THEY WERE GLEEFUL ACCOMPLICES!

6. It is all about self-preservation, goes all the way back to Nixon....
....when the handwriting is on the wall, and disaster is inevitable, career repubs spring into action and tell the President it is time to leave. Happened with Nixon. Could happen with Bush.

7. I guess that means that for some Republicans
there actually is a point when the bullshit gets too deep and stinky to continue spouting it. I was wondering if it was an incremental thing or just a mental thing.
