1. Wow it's like someone's trying to buy my vote
with cheap gas and oil. Wow and I can be bought. Should I pull the lever for a republicant myself or let the machine do it?

2. Yay! Let's hear it for election years!
I say we do what Halliburton is doing and pool all of our gas savings together and buy back our public infra-structure!

7. Does anyone have graphs of avg US monthly gasoline prices?
I would be very interested in seeing such a graph over the last 6 years. It DOES seem like every two years, we have this huge price drop in Sept-Oct-Nov.

8. it is just about every year
last year was a fluke with the exceptional hurricane season. I think would be an interesting graph to see if it drops more on the 2 and 4 year election cycle though...

11. put
your major city in front of the word gasprices.com and you'll get current gas prices in your area, but can click for national. also, can get monthly charts, among others.

love how gas is 2.03 in Ohio but 2.70 in Florida

9. Economics 301 (Not 101) + Business Law 102 (Not 101)
Title 15, United States Code § 1. Trusts, etc., in restraint of trade illegal; penalty

Every contract, combination in the form of trust or otherwise, or conspiracy, in restraint of trade or commerce among the several States, or with foreign nations, is declared to be illegal. Every person who shall make any contract or engage in any combination or conspiracy hereby declared to be illegal shall be deemed guilty of a felony, and, on conviction thereof, shall be punished by fine not exceeding $10,000,000 if a corporation, or, if any other person, $350,000, or by imprisonment not exceeding three years, or by both said punishments, in the discretion of the court.

Google: cartel, "conscious parallelism of (price) action", "administered pricing", "price leadership"

Did you ever notice how the cartelized, administered price, arrived at in parallel, is just low enough to keep most alternative fuels on the cusp of being uneconomical/unprofitable?

Or is that just my biased, prejudiced, conspiratorial view of "Big Oil" and the rest of the world?

13. SHOW DICK SOME RESPECT!
sorry, your tin foil hat smarty pants rant made me think of the breakfast club where brian's character says that the book rack blacking the door could be a fire hazard and the druggie yells, "show dick some respect!"
