A quick favor/info request
What was the name of the woman on Texas' death row whom Bush mocked on the eve of her execution? I'm having a spat with a coworker who's arguing in support of Bush's alleged Christian morality.

Thanks!

1. Carla Faye Tucker. From Wiki:
Edited on Fri Sep-15-06 09:51 AM by babylonsister
Karla Faye Tucker Brown (November 18, 1959–February 3, 1998) was convicted of murder in 1984 and sentenced to death. The case entered the U.S. and international news because she had become a born-again Christian while in prison and George W. Bush, then governor of Texas, had to decide on her request for clemency, which he ultimately denied. Tucker became the first woman to be executed in Texas since the American Civil War.

2. here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Karla_Faye_Tucker

"In the weeks before the execution, Bush says, a number of protesters came to Austin to demand clemency for Karla Faye Tucker. "Did you meet with any of them?" I ask. Bush whips around and stares at me. "No, I didn't meet with any of them," he snaps, as though I've just asked the dumbest, most offensive question ever posed. "I didn't meet with Larry King either when he came down for it. I watched his interview with Tucker, though. He asked her real difficult questions like, 'What would you say to Governor Bush?'" "What was her answer?" I wonder. "'Please,'" Bush whimpers, his lips pursed in mock desperation, "'don't kill me.'" I must look shocked — ridiculing the pleas of a condemned prisoner who has since been executed seems odd and cruel — because he immediately stops smirking."

6. Thank you!
If I hear one more time that Bush is a Moral Man Who Protects Family Values, I'm going to freak out.

Ditto for Santorum.

3. Bush's Christian morality
I just watched DemocracyNow this morning. Segments on torture and rendition. Torture and rendition were never a problem before this totally maorally bankrupt Christian became president. Remember when renditon meant someone doing a bad job odf singing someone else's song? Bush is the most totally morally bankrupt man ever to appear on the national stage.

5. "Rendition" always makes me think of "rendering"
As in "processed within an abattoir."

Not that far off from what actually occurs, as it turns out...
