HOUSE JUDICIARY COMMITTEE PASSES HOSTETTLER'S PUBLIC EXPRESSION OF RELIGION ACT

WASHINGTON, DC - The House Judiciary Committee yesterday passed H.R. 2679, the Public Expression of Religion Act, also known as PERA. This legislation, introduced by Congressman John Hostettler (IN-08), will now be forwarded to the full House of Representatives for a vote.

"This is a big victory for Americans who care about our rich religious heritage in this country," said Hostettler, "there is a lot of excitement about this bill."

"The American Legion," said fmr. American Legion National Commander Tom Bock, "is in full support of the Public Expression of Religion Act of 2005, H.R. 2679, sponsored by Rep. John Hostettler, which would end this abuse by amending the Civil Rights Attorney Fees Act of 1976, 42 United States Code Section 1988, to withdraw the authority of judges to award attorney fees to the ACLU, or anyone else, in lawsuits under the Establishment Clause. I urge you to join us in calling on Congress to pass H.R. 2679."........

1. Rethugs trying to motivate their wacko base.
It'll never pass in the Senate. Probably not in the full House either.

7. Yeah, like the poor persecuted beings never get to express
themselves.

This playing-the-victim things among religious extremists is getting old. So not true.
