Regarding the Chapman arrest....
Something that bothers me....

1) How cooperative is the Mexican government in extradition to the U.S.?

2) Why is it that the Mexican government is only recently going after Chapman?

3) Why isn't this being fought at all?

mexico can be shockingly uncooperative in extradiction to the usa, that's why "dog" had to go down there and round up this horrible piece of dung to begin with

also mexico won't extradite if there is the chance of death penalty being applied, since they have none, this is why the killers and the worst of the rapists can find a safe haven there, if i recall correctly, it was an open secret that the revlon rapist was living large but mexico wouldn't pick him up possibly on grounds that he would have faced death because of the extremely serious nature and number of his crimes (i'm a little shaky on that tho, it has been awhile, double check this information when you get a chance) -- to be honest, i suppose somebody was getting paid off somewhere, don't you think?

in my view, i think it would be a nice gesture toward, really, women everywhere if mexico had just blown this off considering the scumbag was probably doing the same to mexican women or planning to, someone who committed that many pattern crimes doesn't stop out of the goodness of their heart

be that as it may, the mexican gov't is NOT only recently going after him, they arrested him at the time and released him on bond but apparently he did not appear for his hearing -- so this isn't a recent issue but a storm brewing for some time

i hope he can afford to hire the best of attorneys and come to some agreement w. mexico, it seems a shame to punish someone for what is probably the best deed of his life

4. Bascially this seems to me like a one way street...
and personally I am shocked that we even complied. There should have been at least a tit-for-tat agreement. I am sure there are some felons on the run in Mexico that they could help us with.

5. You're Missing the Most Practical Reason
Mexican law prohibits American bounty hunters from hunting in Mexico.

One extremely practical (perhaps cynical) reason: the Mexican officials themselves do the fugitive "selling," not American bounty hunters.

The central Mexican government does nothing to stop this. They pay their police about $100 a month, leaving them little chance to support their families without selling the occasional fugitive.

Yet another example of the central government of Mexico selling out the ordinary people in that country.
