who feels paranoid talking politics on the phone?
I was just talking to my brother in law about politics and the wiretaps and how they use fear on everyone. In the back of my mind I feel a little paranoid about even talking about politics. Like Im worried about saying some key word and then they start listening.

Anyone else feel like this?

Don't tell anyone but my mom is the most subversive person I know! She'd pretty much make any agent's head EXPLODE.

7. My mom and I talk politics via cell phone regularly.
And occasionally, we say hello to Agent Mike. Mom thinks the Agent Mike idea is a hoot. She's pretty cool for 82 years old!

8. Yes. I feel that way all the time. And I do it anyway and usually
there is some point in the conversation where I say out loud, "So, Special Agent, where the f#ck is bin Laden and why don't you get a real job that you don't have to be ashamed of?"

lol

10. For five years I've always said "hello" to the agents "listening in"
when discussing politics. It used to be a joke, but now my greetings are more sincere and heartfelt since learning that there REALLY is someone listening in.

One doesn't want to be rude, and that applies equally to phone etiquette.

26. Sure
Just remember. "Courage is just the realization that something else is more important than your fear." So I say what I think and I say what I feel and if Agent Mike doesn't like it, then fuck 'm.

I refuse to bow down to these bastards.

With no respect for the man, but great regard for the office he appropriated, I remain in the loyal opposition. Loyal to the Constitution, not the man. Fuck'm.

39. i'm used to it. our phone has been tapped for YEARS
used to really freak me out & my family--we would hear clicks and sometimes even breathing (including if we called someone and the line was ringing we could hear someone else breathing--and there were no extensions in the house--we just had one telephone)

it started in the late 1970's

every five years or so it would get so bothersome & i'd reach my pissed off limit i'd call the phone company out to check the lines. the phone guys would climb the phone pole in the back of the yard and wait for our phone to ring--sometimes they would tell me to call a friend have have the friend call me right back.

they'd climb down from the phone pole, shaking their heads, and always tell me--yep, there's someone in on your line. but they never had a clue as to where it was coming from. they could tell that it was an open line (sometimes they would tell me they heard the "third" party or whoever was listening)

40. YES....because there ARE key words that flag your conversation
for interest...I won't live in fear, but there is no sense asking for trouble you don't want, as I do have kids, g.kids...I am very careful what I say over the open lines...
especially knowing everything is listened too...
