Proposal for new DU group - Joe Lieberman supporters
Moderators, fellow DU'ers,
Please consider this OP a formal request to create a DU sub group for Joe Lieberman supporters.
I suggest that this new group be placed in the "Democrats" sub category.
Ten members must agree to support the creation of this new group.
Do I have a second?

Sometimes, you just gotta know...

Just imagine...a mission statement to support a 3rd party candidate, who left the Democratic Party, on a board that supports Democratic Party candidates

It's gotta be good. LOL

on edit: I was wrong. It wasn't good.

Bummer

24. I doubt most of us want to talk about Joe any more.
Except to mention in passing that he's an opportunistic turncoat who, if there is any justice in the universe, has NO political future.

Why would a Democratic site pay for bandwidth which supports another party?

5. …

You are not permitted to use this message board to work for the defeat of the Democratic Party nominee for any political office. If you wish to work for the defeat of any Democratic candidate in any General Election, then you are welcome to use someone else's bandwidth on some other website.

Democratic Underground may not be used for political, partisan, or advocacy activity by supporters of any political party or candidate other than the Democratic Party or Democratic candidates. Supporters of certain other political parties may use Democratic Underground for limited partisan activities in political races where there is no Democratic Party candidate.

21. Hmm...
Well, Joe isn't technically a Democrat anymore, is he?

Here's a counter offer:

We create a sub group for Joe Lieberman supporters after the following conditions have been met:

1) Joe steps out of the Connecticut Senatorial race.
2) Joe comes out and backs the Democratic candidate Ned Lamont.

Seems to me that until these two things are met, he's not a Democrat. And this is Democratic Underground after all.

Herd them all into one small area, where they can be dealt with.

An ancient stategy, originally used by aboriginal hunters to harvest large groups of prey by forcing them into narrows and over a cliff.

Audacious! But it just might work.....

30. Lieberman was treated shamelessly on DU
a lot worse than, say, Ford from TN or Casey from PA. If either of them posted on DU, anonymously, of course, promoting their stand, they would be tombstoned within minutes.

But in less than 2 months this will be over - one way or the other. So why bother with a forum for just 2 months?

Thank you for your understanding in this matter.
