You say you want a revolution?
There is only one way that is going to happen. We MUST invest heavily in education and alternative energies. And the only people that MIGHT do that are Democrats. If Democrats gain control in the Congress and the Executive branch, then we simply must stop all foreign wars, cut back majorly on all military expenditures except for homeland defense, and then use those trillions of dollars on alternative energy, energy efficient infrastructure, and the education of the next generation.

We need to pay our teachers at least $75K with full benefits, and we need to attract this nation's best minds to the profession of education. We need the President to go on the air and call for a reduction in the time we allow our children to watch TV and play videogames, and to call for parents to spend time with their children on activites that promote rationality, analytical thinking, an appreciation for nature, communication, socialization, and EMPATHY.

If we can do this, everything else falls into place and our children have a future worth living.

BUT..damnit. We have to share this once-beautiful country with a bunch of neo-neanderthals who won't be satisfied until we are all proving our manhood by spending trillions on giant WMDs and grunting like fucking gorillas. And the only way we are going to evolve these brutes into fully functioning, civilized human beings is through education. It's a true Catch-22. These apes are bringing about a return to barbarity for the sake of their thug morality. And the rich continue to pull the strings of this sick power play.

1. To add to this, we need to provide free college, university and
technical training to any US citizen.

2. Agreed...
We have the money if we cut out a lot of the military spending and corporate handouts. And we need to revitalize our manufacuring base for those who choose not to pursue advanced degrees. This would allow us, with alternative energy, to be self sufficient. I don't buy into this globalization mythology.

3. Testing and continuing education for teachers
Mandatory... without cost to the teacher. Expect the best of everything for them and from them.

5. That's a great idea.
We need our best minds teaching our children. This isn't rocket science, but it is progressive and concerned with the general welfare of the nation, which is why the rich and their political whores will never allow it. What amazes me is how we have come to accept so much bullshit as normal (like foreign wars, off-shoring, and the empty-shell of our manufacturing base.

6. We should have a DU dystopia contest...
Imagine and write a story about the country and world after four, eight, or twelve years of a continued Bush administration. Then possibly we could have a contest to provide solutions to avoid that future.

8. The best complement is imitation
*you* need to do it and prove to the rest of uz that it works.

I'm not off the grid yet, the home energy solutions are not yet economically self balancing,
and yet if they were, the entire economy would be so incredibly different, that the military
industrial complex really would no longer be central to our lives, by removing its petrol
and its machines driven by petrol...
