I'm not Googling anymore........
Google is "eager" to work with the Republican Party and has boosted its presence in Washington, D.C., according to Roll Call.

34. Perhaps then we should all just fold our arms
and do nothing, buy no more food, drive no more cars at all, search on the internet no longer, watch no more television, can't use the phones either. If we seriously want to avoid using everything that the republicans own, then we will have to do just that; fold our arms and do nothing ever again. I don't see how we can survive if we take that plan of action. Maybe we should quit trying to avoid things they have a hand in and start taking a proactive step by spending purposefully where companies do things we want to see done. Something tells me we would get further that way. I can't remember the last time money went to Yahoo just because I was using it. If I don't buy anything through the use of Yahoo, how is that supporting them?

22. I don't see them.
They're probably blocked by my Adblock. And I give money to DU, so that's fine with me. I'm not going to overlook google helping GOP's keep seats just because they have ads here.

Thanks for the explanation.

13. Google is not as good as it once was. Ask.com is better.
I have several websites, and I can tell how often they are spidered by my server logs. It could be Google doesn't like my sites for some reason, but I do have several unique pages that aren't anywhere else, and they show up more easily on other search engines, when I search for something specific on them that can't be found elsewhere.

I'm using Ask.com more these days, and so far I like it very much.

19. Looks like they're promoting NET NEUTRALITY, and trying to get GOP
incumbents to vote for it, going by the excerpt:

On Wednesday, the company, with TechNet, will co-host its first-ever Washington fundraiser, on behalf of Rep. Heather Wilson (N.M.), one of the most endangered GOP incumbents and a supporter of Google’s position on “net neutrality,” the key Internet regulatory issue that got Google entangled with the phone and cable companies. EBay, the online auction company, is also a co-host.

20. It's one of those damned days. This news is awful, if true. So we go to
ask.com and then learn they have done the same thing? There is something about being traded on the market and having stockholders with few ethics that is harming this country. Excessive prosperity? Capitalism to the extreme is really disappointing.

this black and white "with us or against us" Bushit invading DU has just got to stop. -- Aren't we better than this?

You know what, I wish Bushco and the Bushettes would go crawl back under the rock they came from as much as anyone. And I'd love to yank control of government back from the neoretards as much as anyone, but geesus people, Google has a RW slant? Come on.

30. agree with you, for Pete's sake....

: : What is the origin/menaing For Pete's Sake?

: From the archives:

: Biblical origins. Think of St Peter. Think of the omnipresent medieval church and think of hitting your thumb with a hammer. You can't swear, else the local priests will have you up before the Bishop and the Lord alone knows what the outcome of that will be, so you exclaim, in appropriate tone of voice, "For Saint Peter's sake" and carry on erecting the shelves. This phrase was amended to "For Pete's Sake" in later, less religiously oppressive, times.

: This is called a "minced oath," a substitution of a less offensive word.

FOR PETE'S SAKE - The phrase is simply a polite version of a common and profane expression involving the name of Christ. We'd surmise that the original 'Pete' was St. Peter." From "Morris Dictionary of Word and Phrase Origins" by William and Mary Morris. Substituting less offensive words - like Godfrey Daniel for the other GD - is called a minced oath.
