Was Think Progress Used By Backstabbing AAR Faction?
From Radio Equalizer:

After consulting with those in the know and considering all of the facts at hand, your Radio Equalizer has come to this conclusion, which can fairly be called an educated guess: an internal faction that is attempting to gain (or regain) control of the network "leaked" this "news" to a major liberal blog site (knowing it would be taken seriously there) so as to immediately depress Air America's value.

With the liberal radio network now worth mere pennies, this shady group can ride to the rescue, immediately imposing its will on what remains of the operation and locking out potential outside buyers.

The plan would have worked, except for the fact that Air America's "bankruptcy" generated so much attention that creditors and potential advertisers are now very, very spooked. Did it destroy what was left of the business?

The Think Progress post is here.

2. The only problem with this is that Radio Equalizer is right wing nuttery
at its worst, so I generally don't believe anything they say.

5. Yes, they tend to be conservative ...
... that's why I thought this article was important. It wasn't trying to trash AAR, and sounded like he had some inside information.

It's not wise to always discount people who usually disagree with you. I post articles from right-wing websites when they go against their usual grain. Only then may there be a bit of truth in what they're saying.

6. And then again, maybe they're trying to neutralize Think Progress,
which is usually 100% RIGHT ON. The Center for American Progress is one of the finest resources we have.

3. Wishful thinking on their part.

However, I think AAR needs to get it's act together before this does happen, although it doesn't seem to be imminent.

8. The Radio Tranquilizer is full of it
For some reason, the guy truly has an axe to grind with AAR.

His whole blog centers around spreading nonsense and sticking pins in his AAR voodoo doll. The guy's nuts! And he wants ThinkProgress to apologize for punking him out! Get real! I haven't seen any retractions on his site for all the bullshit HE spread. But I guess he realizes people think he's full of shit.

Brian Baloney, BTW, is a washed-up radio talker who got fired two years ago for making racist comments.

9. I tend to believe right wingers ...
... when they say something that's outside the range of what they normally say. In any case, AAR did NOT file for bankruptcy, and as far as I'm concerned it's a big huge black eye for Think Progress.
