The Age of OUTRAGE: What do you think?
Edited on Thu Sep-14-06 11:54 AM by The Cleaner
That's the way I'd describe this decade if one were to ask me.

Who would have thought, like DU poster Chimichurri just posted, that Dubai Ports World would be bidding on the takeover of our ports once again, this time, with no media coverage or outrage?

Who would have thought that Bush, caught for illegal wiretapping, would ask for INCREASED illegal powers to do so, and be granted those powers?

Who would have thought a President could come into office and ignore over 750 laws, writing signing statements that basically give him a blank check?

Who would have thought that we lost Anbar province, and the U.S. has admitted defeat, and that we're pulling out of that Iraqi region and allowing a newly-formed Al Queda to fill the vaccum (realizing of course that Al Queda was not in Iraq before the war). And who would have thought that we just made Iraq the newest terrorist state, destabalizing the region and endangering the U.S.?

Who would have thought this President isn't impeached already after getting caught red-handed (and I mean red-handed) manipulating intelligence and lying to the public about WMDs and an Iraq/terrorism link? And now his poll numbers are supposedly going UP???

Truly, this is the age of outrage. What do you think?

3. No Outrage
The amazing thing is there is no real outrage. One would think that there would be mobs in the street with buckets of tar but, no. Each outrageous act simply goes to the next without barely a peep. Why is this? Are so numb to it by now that no one cares or is no one paying attention? Maybe the outrage has to personally impact enough people before anyone senses outrage. Gas at $5.00 a gallon would probably do it but at $2.50 nothing happens.
