Unfortunately, a lot of Democrats (especially the elected kind) seem to be peddling the same crap about Chavez that Bush is.
I wonder what the results would be of a poll comparing them head to head (if enough people know who Chavez is).
Or better yet, strip their names off and ask voters which policies they approve of:
"Should the profits from oil drilling on public land be used almost exclusively for corporate profits, or should a significant portion be used for social programs?"
"Are education and health care more important than tax cuts for the rich and corporations?"
"Should our country have a growing middle class and clear path to upward mobility for the poor, or a handful of very wealthy people with everyone else struggling to survive?"
"Should a country use it's wealth to wind friends in other countries through economic help (not scams like world bank and IMF) or use it to invade countries, take their resources, and give them to transnational corporations?"
Any guess who would come out ahead there?
