Anyone see Jimmy Kimmel Live last night?!?!
Or anything else on ABC? If you did, you contributed to ABC, The Path to 9-11, and the conservative movement to rewrite history to blame 9-11 on Bill Clinton and transform the entire mainstream media into Republican covert propaganda. Please reconsider your choice of programming.

1. Nah, I'm a TCM junkie at night
and always found Kimmel annoying, anyway.

Before I got the dish last month, I listened to music most of the time, especially when PBS was begging and showing lousy programming.

3. "annoying" is an understatement...
The very definition of "lowbrow" non-entertainment.

4. I don't watch anything on ABC
I can be thick sometimes, but I don't understand how simply watching ABC contributes to them. How do they know if you're watching unless you have one of those Neilson boxes? My motivation for asking is pure (not flame bait). :hi:

6. Well I'm Not Part A Neilson Family...
but I have a DVR that phones home on a regular basis. Anyway, whatever happened to a protest simply to, well, protest.

But this seems as effective as me sitting in my livingroom with a sign that says "Impeach Bush".

12. Use It As A Point Of Discussion Then.
When a family member, co-worker or friend asks you if you watched the latest episode of of "insert ABC show here", you can tell them you didn't and why you didn't. maybe you can change some minds.

network, it's never really been a concern which is which.

8. As long as you're being a purist - turn off your tv entirely
That will make a lot of difference.
Not.
I haven't owned a tv for 10 years but I'm not silly enough to think that makes any difference to the propaganda machine.
Same goes for selectively watching particular networks.
The benefit is to me since I'm not polluting my consciousness.
All I can see that not watching a particular network does is to make you (generic, impersonal you) feel good. Other than that, it won't do much.

14. I stopped watching ABC some time ago
When they dumped Ted Koppel and turned Nightline into a "fluff" show. The new Nightline is pure republican propaganda. When they made that change, I could see what ABC had turned into.

15. Eh, yeah, I guess, if...
it makes you feel better.

But these impromptu boycotts don't work without a massive organized campaign. If there's something interesting on ABC, and there is at times, I don't see any reason why I should suffer not watching it when nothing is accomplished.

If I could help cause a management shakeup and change in corporate attitude, yeah I'd jump on the bandwagon, but now it's just sound and fury and nothing will change.

If you aren't, it doesn't matter what you watch because no one is keeping track.

25. If you want to advertise the courage of your convictions
Just ABC? Just ABC??!!

If you want to advertise the courage of your convictions, you have to boycott so much more than one simple network station....

You'll have to censor the movies you watch, the gas you but (not the distributors, mind you-- you'll need to research who actually drilled for the gas ion your local mom & pop convenience store). The NFL pays subsidiary fees to the networks that broadcast NFL games-- no more football, regardless of what channel it's on. TiVo? No-way, my friend, Disney is part owner of that little gem. I'm thinking you're getting the point now. Like hockey? Not anymore! Disney owns the Ducks and all teams are in direct partneship with the National Hockey League.

Video games? Disney has them by the buttloads and invests in many game companies-- better make sure which ones so you'll know which of your video games are tainted and which aren't.

Make sure the books and magazines you read aren't published by publishing companies partially owned by Disney... but I'm sure you already do that.

Here's a very incomplete list to futher assist you in your intellectualy & morally honest boycott... make sure you never read, listen to, buy, enjoy

Disney
Disney is an example of media expansion. Founded first as movie production and theme park company, Disney now publishes books, magazines, and financial and medical services information. Disney owns ABC network with 10 television stations and 66 radio stations in the United States.
Partnering with Hearst Corporation and General Electric (GE,) Disney invests in 12 cable stations, 13 broadcast channels outside the USA, and Disney is part owner of German, French, Spanish, Scandinavian, and Japanese television stations.

Disney owns film companies; Buena Vista, Touchstone, Walt Disney, Hollywood Pictures, Caravan Pictures, Miramax Films.

Disney is a financial partner with Sid R. Bass in crude petroleum and natural gas production.

Along with its own internet portal, Disney owns ABC.com, Oscar.com, Mr. Showbiz, all Disney related sites, Family.com, ESPN.com, NBA.com, NASCAR.com, and toysmart.com.

Interactive games and music for Disney come through Buena Vista Music Group, Hollywood Records, Lyric Street Records, Mammoth Records, and Walt Disney Records.

Disney also owns Anaheim Sports Inc. and the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim; 15 resorts and theme parks, and is a partial investor with TiVo.

Good luck
