That photo of the "large number of Taliban" at the funeral that were not
attacked. Something really stinks here.

This item has been on the news since last night. This morning CNN is reporting that NBC released this photo after the photo had been "declassified." The military apparently had a spokes person say that the photo never should have been declassified and that the US treats its enemies with a "higher moral and ethical consideration" than they do us.

Does this smell like a contrived political release to deflect some of the criticism the administration and military has been getting lately?

2. But the military would use weapons on American citizens
Putting this story together with the story yesterday about the Air Force commander who suggested using microwave weapons on "testy" American citizens and you could conclude that the bu$h regime's war is actually on the American people.

I call you attention to Land Shark's post

3. Pure politics
They are releasing this to show that the Geneva Conventions and other pesky rules of war and engagement are just getting in the way of killing terrorists, and by backing pussy Democrats, Americans are voting for those that fight for the rules that protect Taliban soldiers at parties and funerals.

No mention of the moral depravity it takes to bomb a funeral procession. No mention of the collateral damage to 'hearts and minds' offsetting any gain realized by bombing a religious ceremony. No mention of the fact that Americans would be APPALLED if 'terrorists' bombed an American soldier's funeral in Arlington. And no discussion of why in the hell air strikes were not called in on the group's members following the funeral. We could have bombed around the funeral following the ceremony, so as not to be forced to bomb a cemetery, but that kind of logic is foreign to Repubes.

They want to have no rules, no accountability. They never follow the rules that exist. They only complain about them in an effort to destroy them to further allow our Fascist Corporatocracy to grow more powerful and less accountable.

War criminals.

4. Wow, attacking funeral processions, despite many unsavory personas
is going bring about the PROFOUND RESPECT of The World Community! Just like bombing that wedding party in Afghanistan. :sarcasm: "But but but, there were Al Quaeda there so "the celebrants" were IN THE WAY!" :eyes: :puke:

:wtf: are the TRUE MORAL VALUES of these Republicans? IMO, they're Sociopatic Personalities who DEMAND that we OBEY their morally bankrupt policies of Mega-Corporate rule, perpetual war with HATRED of all "others" who don't conform to their world view. They view Liberals as equally evil as Al Quaeda. These a**holes are some very mentally deranged people who need a rubber room, NOT political power. :grr: :nuke:

7. Useful propaganda
To combat the desperate (and well-founded) fear that no one believes BushCo anymore when they say they only do what's legal.

11. It's complete propoganda
It's meant to 1) Reinforce the silly "Don't fire" lie from Path to 9/11
2) Demonstrate that any rules of restraint are ridiculous, and that the government is hamstrung by officious bureaucrats (like the ones who might view Guantanamo as illegal)
3) Argue for moral distinction, even as it argues that the rules that uphold moral distinction are unnecessary.

I wouldn't be surprised if it was fiction from start to finish.

On NBC last night, the correspondent sneered that the US could not attack enemies in a cemetery. Haruumph. Meanwhile, almost the entire battle of Najaf took place in one of the largest and most revered Islamic cemeteries in the world, and oh, if we hit the Imam Ali Mosque with a few shells, ho hum, it's the Sadrists who are hiding there....

They act as if we can't remember two years ago.
