Why hasn't AAR announced their new lineup?
Edited on Wed Sep-13-06 11:03 PM by Benfea
After Sam Seder announced that he would probably be on the 9 to noon slot starting next Monday, I went to the AAR web site to see if they if they had any more info on their new lineup.

Shock of shocks, their web page makes no mention of the upcoming changes. I don't mind most of the changes they're making (and I'm honestly quite happy with some of them), but why be so secretive about a major change that is less than a week away?

I really wish they'd get their act together.

PS -- they still list Mike Malloy. Cripes, the least they could do is fix that seeing as they went through the trouble of firing him in the worst possible way and all.

1. This is what the moderate station's lineup here in Miami is changing to.
Beginning Monday, Sept. 18, the lineup is:
5-6am Mark Riley
6-9am Jim DeFede
9-noon Stephanie Miller
noon-3 Al Franken
3-6pm Ed Schultz
6-9pm Randi Rhodes
9-11pm Rachel Maddow
11p-2a Sam Seder

Yes that's right. Sam Seder in the dead ass of night. Guaranteeing no ratings.

2. Yuck!
Sam in the dead of night plus Stephanie Miller and Ed Schultz? Meh.

4. Yeah, the repig station already beats the "progressive" station 2 to 1,
in the ratings. I can't imagine what this line up is going to do to the ratings. Probably send the station back to sports talk.

7. Not much of a change from their current schedule
Sam actually gets a better time slot, moving from the dead of night to an earlier shift.

At least you've got a liberal talk station! All I have here is two AM stations telling me how bad and evil Democrats are. Thank goodness for podcasting.

And that's not too terrible a lineup. I do know that they delay Rhodes because she's also on WJNO live.

8. What?
You actually like this lineup?

Well I guess you're at least right about Sam. He goes from not being on the air to 11 at night. Some presence is better than none.

As for Randi, her being on WJNO doesn't have jack to do with her being tape delayed. She's delayed because that repig Ed Schultz is on in her spot. We don't have a liberal talk station in Miami. We have a repig one and a centrist one.

...it's not a terrible lineup. I didn't say I was in love with it. My local 'liberal talk' station has Bill O'Reilly on it, so I guess I just don't feel your pain.

This lineup sounds typical for a commercial liberal talk station. Nothing too exciting. And I do know that WINZ gets fairly decent ratings, so I guess it works.

Would you rather have WINZ the way it is or no liberal talk station at all?

It could be better, but at least you have WINZ. I'd love to have it in my market. Shit, I'd love to have anything in my market worth listening to.

12. Bro you can have it.
Decent ratings? I guess. I know the repig stations kicks its ass every month. Personally, I can't stand anybody on that station other than Randi and Sam and you can see how they're being treated in this lineup.

11. We got that on FM here I'm afraid.
Neal Boortz. Enough said. Nearest thing to progressiveness is Alan Colmes and he's evening.

The other choices are AM with Rush limpballs. Or southern gospel, or urban gospel, or country.

Hey, Ed Schultz would be an improvement to the Reich-wing media we have here.

Mark.
