A young women is dead, 19 injured in Montreal shooting

I didn't hear anything about this until recently, when I got home from school....its really sad. Fucking dirtbag trench-coat wearing motherfucker...what the fuck is wrong with these people.

From CBC news

A young woman was killed as a result of a shooting rampage at a Montreal college Wednesday. The suspected shooter, a 25-year-old Quebec man, died after a police confrontation.

(Peter McCabe/Canadian Press) The shooting at Dawson College also left 19 injured and many in emotional shock. Police Chief Yvan Delorme told RDI television that a woman in her twenties had died. Doré said the suspected shooter's car and residence would be part of the initial stages of the investigation, with police hoping to learn more about his history, and possibly, an apparent motive. "There is no racist connotation or no terrorist link as far as we know," Delorme said. The gunman died minutes after he opened fire on the student body at Dawson, a CEGEP serving about 10,000 students near the storied Montreal Forum.

Montreal General Hospital chief of clinical operations Ann Lynch said eight patients from the school were in critical condition, with six requiring surgery. "The nature of the injuries are all gunshot wounds to the abdomen, to the chest, one head injury and also several to the limbs, peripheral limbs, arms and legs," said Lynch. The hospital said it would not issue a further statement on the victims' conditions until early Thursday. Three other victims were taken to Jean Talon Hospital and two others were transported to the Jewish General Hospital. The victims included women and men, officials said.

Eyewitnesses say they saw a tall skinny man, wearing a black trench coat and sporting a Mohawk haircut, walk into the cafeteria carrying a large gun. He apparently fired several shots.

4. Events like this can be chaotic....there were also claims of mutliple
shooters. A lot of the the "right out of the gate" news reports are based on witness accounts...somebody seeing bloody bodies, critical cases mistaken for deaths, etc. Even the police are overwelmed. Same thing happened with colombine, when the first news came out. The story I cite is more recent, so I suspect that its the clearest account. Although some of the criticals are hanging by a thread....I really fucking hope they come through. I'm an atheist, so I won't pray for them, but my sympathy and thoughts go out to the students.

5. Whether it’s called prayer, sympathy or just good thoughts…
You got me thinking.

I encourage everyone to actively think, meditate and/or project positive outcomes for these victims. While we’re at it, let’s do the same for our planet and our world. And if you happen to imagine * going to Mars, it’s not like he didn’t suggest it. Just keep it positive for all.

Most of all, I hope that our Canadian neighbors will recover fully. They do have a head start with their national health care, but that’s not likely enough in times like these unless our collective world can support their healing and their lives.

I know this is a very “moonbeam” approach, but I swear that I am not smoking anything but tobacco. Think good thoughts about their recovery. It will come back to you. Peace.
