My letter to Anonymous (sorry, I promised I wouldn't divulge his identity)
Edited on Wed Sep-13-06 10:12 PM by mikelewis
Right after the 2004 election, you and I had a brief email exchange. I had sent you information about election concerns that I held at that time. During our conversations, you indicated that you did not believe that the election was stolen by use of the new electronic voting machines or tabulation software. You stated that the apparent disenfranchisement was more of a concern but you did not give me the indication that you believed this was a major issue. It's been a few years now and more information has come to light.

Please review this snippet...
"Princeton researchers show how to steal an election with Diebold machines
Princeton security researchers Ariel J. Feldman, J. Alex Halderman, and Edward W. Felten have taken apart one of Diebold's notorious voting machines and done a thorough security analysis of its workings. They showed that they could easily install software on the machine that would allow an attacker to steal votes from one candidate and give them to another -- they showed that this would be undetectable, and easily done. They've published a paper and an amazing, disturbing video showing how this could be done."

This revelation (which is hardly a revelation to millions of Americans) does not prove that our elections are being stolen by the GOP or anyone else. This is not the issue. The issue is... They can be stolen. This is proof.

Because this relates to your field, I was hoping you would once again revisit this issue. As I promised, I have not revealed our email exchanges but I will be posting the body of this message on a web post located here (http://journals.democraticunderground.com/mikelewis/32). Because I promised not to divulge our conversations, I took pains to inoculate this letter from revealing your identity and no one will know if you do not take action on this issue. However, during the course of our exchange, I believe I sensed in you a desire to find the truth and report it honorably. Here, sir, is proof. Please report it honorably.
